Anybody else manage to see watchmen on the opening night last night?

I thought it was brilliant and one of the best films i've ever seen. Without a doubt the best scenes for me were the prison scenes!

Oh, and the girl is hawt

I saw it last night and though it was superb. I loved The Dark Knight but Watchmen did make it look like a CBeebies program.

My one criticism of it was Carla Gugino wasn't in it enough :)

I'm looking to go and see this sometime next week, I just hope it isn't a big anti-climax since I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Hmmm.... I think reading the graphic novel first ruined it for me. For a superhero movie, it's very dialogue/monologue heavy. That's in no way a bad thing but the acting was too hammy to really pull it off. Listening to wooden actors with no charisma talk just isn't fun.

What I didn't mind was the change of ending. It made sense given the constraints of filming a movie.

I went witha couple of mates and I thought it was brilliant, one mate thought it was very very good and the other thought it was OK but he'll not bother watching it again when it comes out on DVD. The mate who liked it said he is going to buy himself a HD TV and Blu Ray player just for Watchmen when it comes out.

I haven't really heard much about it other than my friend saying that it is going to be awesome the other day. The trailer looks cool so I am going to watch it tomorrow evening.

I went to see the 23:30 viewing and I couldn't believe the size of the screen it was being shown on. The quality was brilliant and the sound was gobsmacking. As for the film, it had blood, sex, violence etc so what's there not to like? hehe .

And I also agree with the above, the prison scene is definitely the best especially the bit before the toilet.

Watched it earlier today, I'm really into the whole super hero film thing and I was expecting this to be similar to a lot of films but woah, really threw me off.. amazing film, amazing story and well utterly stunning women. Sex, blood, violence - Ace!

A superb film, utterly engrossing throughout. At no point was I not thoroughly enraptured by the alternate universe (except when I thought of The Incredibles) but then there is a parallel there.

This film really does have everything a man needs. And I concur, the prison scenes were quality.

Watched it last night.

Good film, but not amazing. Never having read the novel or even heard of Watchmen I had no expectations going into it and when I came out of it all I could think of was that it was a very long winded way of telling a simple story.

Nevertheless, the acting, effects and everything else was top notch.
