***Champions League R1 L2 - 10/11th March***

'off the pace'? they are joint second, they're not doing that bad!
Could say the same about Real Madrid, They just had a bad night.

And no you might as well rest your players in the Uefa cup to save them for the more important competition. Same as other clubs do with the FA/Carling cups. Status? Uefa cup doesn't really get you that much status. I can't even remember the last 4 teams in it last year. League is far more important.

It's a Cup. I think it's pointless to be in a Cup and not at least try. It is status, okay its not on the same level as the Champions League, but that in its self is a joke the way its set up.
Uefa Cup is taken seriously in other countries, seems English teams just don't take it seriously.

Incredible. Everyone on top form tonight. What a tremendous display and fantastic conduct againest a team of egotistical, diving over-rated footballers, well deserved.

;)

Liverpool played well against a very poor Real.
Bayern Munich played very well against a very very poor Sporting.
Chelsea ... scrape ? or easy past Juve ?
Villarreal scrape through against Pathathinkaikos :)

I did say that Liverpool would walk this home tie. No suprise really. Real Madrid are a shadow of the team they used to be.

Even Wigan could give them a game.

Completely Agreed. Nothing Like They Used To Be

Even Wigan could give them a game. Not too sure about that

Raul missed one or two opportunities which could have been finished by most premier league strikers.
