You should have entered the tournament, there will most likely be another one soon so keep an eye out. I also play as Sagat, add me for some games.
Sounds anti-competitive to me, neutering the players with one main to allow the more casual player to have more of a chance. If those rules were in effect I wouldn't bother entering as it defeats the point of a tournament to find the best player.
Interesting points - I guess Ive always considered the best player is the one that can adapt his play and play with a set of characters (say like the Decathlon) whereas you guys feel the best player is the one that can (only?) exploit you just via 1 character and completely understands him inside out (like the 100m sprint). Agreed the 1 character player would be very proficient and undoubtably better than the the 'jack of all trades, master of none' person with that single character but would be out of his depth with anything else...Problem with your plan pseudo is that it would discourage players, including myself, as we want to be as best as we can and the only real way to do that is to play solely as one character.
Is the current tournament format 3 games of 3 rounds or 1 game of 3 rounds? I'd prefer the former in the next tournament (if there is one) as 3 rounds just isn't enough to get to grips with some players.
just added you maybe we can set up a game sometime
also it appears you reached the semis of the tournament
might have bitten off more than i can chew
just go easy on me![]()
Surprised though you would be discouraged to enter if such a rule existed - to me playing something like SF4, anything to make me try other characters and get competent with them is a bonus. Just playing as one sole character kinda reduces the fun element for me or even the games longevitity...
Also Im very confused why you think it would be an advantage to the casual player and ergo a disadvantage to the euthasist. It would be a grateful challenge for me to get good with numerous characters where a hidden advantage would be learning their weaknesses that I could exploit with my main - half the battle is knowing how to exploit your opponents moves/delays/weaknesses...

I totally agree with the viewpoint - jsut surprised that what should really be a fun tournament doesnt seem to be taken lightly - seems people are getting quite competitive for limited reason. If the games were ranked matches then thats a different story...
LOL @ the play to win statement

Shuush you I got the pointEvery moment i play as someone other than abel is a moment wasted where i could have learned something new of him. The fact i've concentrated very heavily on learning and understanding how to use him to exploit other characters' weaknesses is what has made me get so much better at this game than i was in a relatively short amount of time.
It's just a matter of wanting to progress as much and as quickly as possible.
Catch you later tonight for some games?
