Saw an episode of Wheeler Dealers the other day where they got a professional in, he appeared to use some abbrasive pad to key the leather back a bit and then apply a dye/pigment he blended to match the blue leather on a Bentley. Looking at the before / after on the Leather Tek website it may well be the same thing, was most impressive.

EDIT post Googling:
Here's the vid: http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/video/wheeler-dealers-leather-seats/
Here's a thread talking about it: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=97130

had some meat in the footwell, some juice leaked out the packaging. the car now smells of rotting meat. tried bowl of hot water with washing up liquid and a soft scrubbing brush. still smells. how should i get rid of the smell. its in the carpets, not the mats

I have a white substance on my cloth seat (not man juice), i think it is paint, I have tried that foamy stuff that you scrub into the seat, but no avail, any suggestions?

Ah paint on the seat. yeah its a pain in the arse basically warm/hot soapy water and a lot of scrubbing. However sounds like you've been doing this. The glue and tar remover (Tardis) is sometimes good at removing paint on seats. Keep trying the warm/hot soapy water tho.

Cold water, hot water never works for smells. How long ago was it when the juice leaked out? If its been in there awhile the problem is you can keep scrubbing and scrubbing but the juices could have leaked into the underlay/foam/rubber thats under your carpets in your footwells, which is a problem. You can use air fresh but that will only mask the smell. I recommend a decent wet vac and BioBrisk. If you can get your hands on some BioBrisk from Autosmart staturate the area with it, leave area for 3 to 5 mins then wet vac the crap outta it, leave it to dry if smell is still present try again. Still there then you're gunna have to rip the carpets out and treat the underlay.

I have lots of water marks on the passenger seat where the missus can't get any liquid in her mouth...

I tried vanish carpet stain remover and i think that made the stains worse!!

cheers for that, acutally posted that on behalf a friend - he's thankful for the advice. re cold water on smells, that's something i knew about - i'm a chef, and after handling fish and the like, it's always cold soapy water!

ok, now one about my car. When it was snowing (year or so ago), i was playing on car park and had my windows down - car went into a snow drift and my backseat got covered in snow. It has dried, but dried water-marked (white edges). How should i tackle that?

To the OP:

How would you restore my drivers seat, it is a black air conditioned leather (therefore with hundreds of tiny air ventilation holes through the leather which i do not want to block). The bolster is showing signs of wear with the black colour wearing off slightly. I would like to restore it to its original matte black finish (NOT shiny).

Any idea's on a product and how to apply it to air conditioned seats?

Maybe you could write a little list of all the cleaning products you use, or the most frequent ones. Explain what they do and how to use :)

I'm sure you will end up repeating yourself a lot in this thread, and it may help people without you even needing to reply ;)

Theres a company called gliptone ooop norf. They do a lot leather cleaning and conditioning products, they also do dye, Ive used it some grey leather with good effect.

I have a question for you crang2k.

I have a Scotia White FTO, i do try and clean it every few weeks if i can :

Hose
Wash
Rinse
Clay
Polish
Wax

I really would like the White colour to shine, i realise it will never have the gloss look of black.

The paintwork is in great condition.

What polish/wax would you recommend to really make it shine ?.

Also what polisher machine thing would you recommend £50 max. ? (LOL)

Many thanks

Ive also been recommended this product. Got a slight scuff I want sorting so I will definately give them a try.

I emailed a picture to a car leather repair guy of my car and seat.

He quoted me £100 I think and very generously offered to condition the rear seats free of charge :D

Not sure if you deal with this, but:

Do you know the best way of removing small dings in door panels DIY style?

OP.. a question,

My dad has got, what appears to be 'sticky toffee syrup' onto my Alcantara seats, whats the best product to use that will remove the syrup yet won't damage/stain the alcantara?

Thanks

P.S Sticky toffee syrup is Dark brown sugar, butter..

Basically my leather seats are damaged and was wondering how much it would cost to repair? Anything I can buy myself to do it??

The drivers side is a lot worse than the passengers...
