Im a little out of the PC gaming scene as I've been giving my attention to my job over the last year, and in that time not one PC game has made me want to give it some attention. There have been a fair few console games but no PC games.

Have I missed something? I read something once about some developers starting to give up on PCs because of piracy and the like, does this have anything to do with it?

Maybe it's just me but, meh :(

NO.

We have one of these threads every week. Infact this is the second one this week. PC gaming is not dying.

Stop flogging the dead horse already!

how many times a day does this question need to be asked?

Yes, it seems to have dropped and died big time!

Theres nothing at all happening at the moment is it because they are making new games? its the worst ive ever seen it

I think its more likely that you're just not reading sources that contain information about upcoming and new releases in PC Gaming than it having died in the last 12 months. Oh and stop reading Shacknews, console or PC, they post Garbage 24/7.

Yes most definitely so this is why I am getting a 360.

But lets face it the 360 and ps3 are basically pc's when you look at them.

Pc will always be king for fps and rts but the fun has dried up imo.

It's because of piracy no devs really bothered about pc games market.

I want to play football games ( well all there is, is fifa and they make it deliberately bad on pc and oldgen) and beat em ups online I have no choice but to get a console.

SFIV for me looks way more fun than any pc game online.

Theres a great lineup this year for 360 including blazblue king of fighters 12 tekken 6 Fifa 10 etc.

Pc gaming is not dead and never will be but it has it's highs and lows and this year is definitely going to be a low.

Only games I am looking forward to are the next generation of battlefield type online games like arma2 operation flashpoint 2 etc.

Aplogies as this is then a repeat, as i say im out of the PC gaming scene, recently when i get time to play i seem to jump on the xbox or play some CS and so on.

I really hope things turn around, i love teh PC gaming :)

What are you talking about "hope things turn around" ... PC gaming is doing better now than it has ever done, you just admitted yourself you're out of the PC gaming scene, so you obviously aren't keeping track of any releases, how do you then from that starting point of sheer ignorance on the matter and begin making conclusions on the industry as a whole?

Well lets think about it, in the last few months we have had hits like

L4D
Empire TW
DOW 2
F.E.A.R. 2

.

+ lots more that probably arnt worth talking about

Back in the good old days you could buy a top class game every month, and it was never an easy decision either. I miss those days :(.

Games take longer to develop nowadays. That isn't confined to pc's either.
I think MGS4 was the last console title that was released that remotely interested me, before that it would have been GTA4.

What is stopping you now?

Seriously, all these threads ever contain is drivel from people who somehow reach the conclusion that if they don't know about it, it doesn't exist.

Well get yourself back in the scene and see what you have been missing!

I personally play mainly FPS online games and have no idea where these "PC gaming is dead" comments come from, if many more quality games are released soon i don't know how i'm going to get the time to play them all, although the only one i'm dissapointed has had it's release put back is "Aliens:Colonial Marines", was hoping that would be out this month

I think for me pc is lacking in great new fun online games.

where are the battlefield 3's and coh 2's not to mention THERE IS NO GOOD PC FOOTBALL game it's blasphemy.

Empire, DOW and FEAR are all "filler" titles imo. Can't see us talking about any of them a few months down the line. L4D was great but it's more of a fun game, i.e. something to be played when you've had enough of playing a real epic story driven game... the type that would really absorb you like a good book.
