Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

gg mate - never played against dhalsim, dont really know what he can do...so unpredictable! i dont like gief, hes just too powerful!

just lost to ojste 6-2 but this ^^ is not an excuse ;) :D

defiantly one of the better kens ive played online i like those combos and the way you cut off the heavy dragon punch with a focus if i block is good

normal kens do that all day leaving themselves vulnerable when they come down making them easy pickings for sagat

need to find a way to combat this new tactic
 
ggs sem, i was actually playing a little more cautious then i normally do, you seemed to have a good feel for my throw opportunities. + tiger knees lol

kept missing my fadc combos too, one turned into a taunt (wtf?) and one turned into an ex hadoken :/
 
Just got this game, using Blanka but struggling to ensure his ultra is effective. I can pull it off 9/10 times now, but I never get the full effect. Do I want to be waiting for the opponent to be airbourne or what? Anyone got any tips?

I've never played anyone in a ranked match yet (had almost 200 games), where they cancel the DP and are as effective with combo's as ojste. He very rarely leaves himself open either. For tips on how to beat ojste watch the vid in the other thread lol :p:D;)
 
Finally got my game down against sagat :D Won two games against players with over 2000BP who used him. I'm making a big deal of this as when i first started playing i pretty much decided i couldn't beat sagat at all.

Now i gotta keep working on beating vega and blanka...

Who do you play as?

How do you do against cammy, I've met a few cammy players online who were hard to beat. Not as hard as a good vega though, I think I met one guy who absolutely leathered me but I rarely come across vega.
 
Abel.

Against cammy players with abel it's possible after her low down spiral move to charge after her then do a grab that catches her in the air (forget the name of the move). An EX air grab is pretty punishing so i usually just wait for them to resort to that then sort em out.

Vega is like cammy but quicker, so once he's hit there isn't enough time to chase after and punish, fortunately his hit priority is low, especially if you manage to get rid of his claw, so you can usually poke through nearly every move he has. That said, i still lose to him more than i win.

Blanka, well, i just can't deal with his electricity at all, seeing as all of abels attacks are close range it makes him really vulnerable.

When im playing againts skilled Cammy/Vega players they both normally do the same kinda stuff, there both superquick so they jump around, wall to wall, just keep blocking and wait for an opening.

Stay really tight and close to them, dont let them keep moving around the stage, keep them pressured!

I think it's because I rarely ever come across them, very few people actually use them who are really good I mean, and playing the cpu on hardest setting isn't really the same. But yeah I agree you can't give them space to move around, constant pressure and you get openings.

They need room to do there moves so dont let them do anything, the only reason why they are decent is because of there speed, so you have to take that away from them. you just kinda have to think what you would do if you was being them and i would find it so hard if i wasnt given any room to time to do moves.

I don't think I've ever played any Abel players from ocuk, add me on, wouldn't mind a game sometime. :)

I find Blanka a real pig to fight against as Abel too. Does he have any moves that work on the cannon roll? With electricity I use a ducking light kick if they're close, or move back a little and ducking hard kick - goes right through the lightning.

What i've found can work is a charge in straight after you've blocked it and a tornado throw as he lands. If it works it really makes them panic, if it goes wrong you are open to some serious punishment.

Oh and, in case you come up against an electricity spammer, remember, your ultra will soon learn' him as it passes straight through and connects without fail.
 
One question - does anyone find that not playing as host that air normal attacks are neutered as it seems the host always hits his first?

Just wondering as I always seem to fall foul of the first attack even if Im doing a standing jump...

Just wierd...
