The OcUK Street Fighter 4 Tournament of Champions (PS3)

I'm not anything special either mate, i just fear the prospect of fighting someone i know nothing about. I heard through the grapevine that you are rated as good as rp2000 at akuma by some people which makes you a scary threat to say the least. You about tomorrow? I'm around any time in the morning/ afternoon if you want to get our match in.

Very kind of you mate, but even if i beat beenom, i'll be up against the champ or someone who beat the champ which will probably lead to me being at best a second round knock-out. Methinks your hopes are poorly placed! :p

I also suffer from ranked-match jitters, god knows what my tournament-match shakes will be like.

From the few games I played against Beenom, we were close as Akuma. Sadly (and I am finding this against everyone I play). He has probably practised and got better since, whereas I have not.

Plus my Akuma is a not a patch on your Abel, nor will he be tbh unless I practise some of the offline challenges, combos etc.

I am honestly hoping the champ knocks you out, as I would be more concerned fighting you than the champ. I think yesterday you beat me like 9-0 or 9-1 and then I played the champ and he only beat me 3-1.

I had no chance in hell of beating you, but I still kept playing to try and learn, the Champ, within a few games I could see weaknesses. I got more hits on him with Akuma than he did on me with his Sagat, shame Sagat's moves are like x3 more powerful than Akuma's. When I changed to Sagat it was more even, I think. I am not a Sagat fan as I think he is overpowered (like in HD remix and previous versions). Hovever, I don't think I will have any qualms, switching characters, when losing, to Sagat and then winning, if that is the only way to progress in the tourney :)

Edit: Waiting for Jonny_no2 to accept my friends request. I DO NOT WANT A BY SO REPLY ASAP!!

I don't like the idea of having practice matches with your opponent. If you two have never faced each other, then your first match should be your tournament match.

Its entirely up to him is hes up for it, if hes not then sweet, if he is then why not, Dont see whats rong in it? :D:p

Because its not right. You wouldn't see Boxers having a few warm up matches with each other before their fight. Just practice against other players then have your tournament match.

Naah want to have a few pratice round before the actual match?

Did you just miss the posts directly above yours? I'd rather you not have practice rounds before having your actual tournament match. Just have your tournament match first then you guys can play as much games as you want together.

This is not a boxing match. If people wish to spar with each other, they will.

You cannot dictate when people play each other outside their tournament matches. Stop being silly. I will probably play my opponent before the game. I regularly play Streeteh who I may end up playing in the tournament. Do I have to stop while your tournament goes on?

I am just laying down a few ground rules. I can't stop them playing each other before their tournament match, but I am just saying its best to have your tournament match first. When do they decide they're ready to have their real match? When one of them figures out the other guys playing style?

They don't allow warm up matches between opponents in real tournaments, why should we? Why bother having rules at all if no one is going to follow them?

Thats totally different. I am talking about players that have never played each other before. Their first match should be the tournament match since they're in the tournament. I cannot enforce this but this is the way it should be.

i agree with everything really, both that opponents shouldn't really play each other before (especially just before) the tourney match but i also agree that you can't enforce this particular rule either as its up to the players... lol :p

the tourney format already allows you enough time to adapt to a players playstyle on the fly. it even allows you to counter-pick should you choose to do so.

How long have we got to clear the first round? Added beenom this morning but no sign of him yet (obviously it hasn't been long so not panicking)
