What is your favourite MMO?

All you Werner Planetside players. What were you're character names?!

Same as name here :)

Was originally in Kuntras Killas, then Tempest, and I currently reside in MoX (and have done for the past 3 or 4 years :))

Had a NC char in the Bercs for a while, but got bored of NC too fast. Can't wait for the merge, a decent handful of MoXies are coming back, if only for a little bit :)

Cool, got a few SR coming back aswell! ;)

Good stuff. There were so few decent TR outfits (with the outcasters making up 40% of the entire TR pops) it's good to see the ones I did enjoy fighting with making a come back :)

Yeah, I still play on Gemini a few hours a week, just to pass time on. The lasher makes lasher 2.0 roll in its grave.

But bring on the Merge!

Warcraft, gave up at C'thun though, got to rank 10 and was easily one of the most feared pvp players on the server :)

Gustov priest Bloodfeather....

Nothing else has come close, AOC was highly underrated though

Warhammer was ok...

Started playing on a UO freeshard at the weekend and really enjoying it so far. Seems to have a good population (unlike EA's servers) with around 900-1000 people online at any one time and also a lot of new players running around. It's set during the second age, so no Trammel/insurance/powerscrolls (besides tailoring and smithing) which means all the things that made the game exciting are there.

Definately worth a look if you're an old time player or have never played and are looking for something different - www.uogamers.com

LOTRO is one i play.
EVE is another, and im LOVING it!
And Warhammer Online isnt bad, but its a lot better than WoW!!
Guild wars is my final one.

Whats LOTRO like compared to WAR. I found WAR and WOW very similar.

But I found I am just running around on my own in WAR. Seems like quite a soloist game so far. Im just coming up to level 8 on day three of my trial. I do like it but more to the fact I was bought up with the Games Workshop games so a bit bias towards it. I would like to contiinue and would if it meant just paying a months sub, but I dont like the idea of having to buy the game (unless you get a months sub with it?)

When that finishes Ill try the LOTRO 14 day trial. Not sure if that is limited on level or anything? I like the idea of LOTRO as you can buy a lifetime membership (if it has the lasting appeal that is)

SWG, before NGE and CU. I miss that game sometimes, but everytime I go back to it for a month, I end up playing for a few days - maybe a week or so - and then remember why I left it. There is also something really saddening about driving through the old deserted player cities and empty battlegrounds without running into anyone.

Tried both WAR and WoW, neither appealed to me.

I miss Auto Assault sometimes- it had its moments.

Currently, I play AirRivals, which is a free MMOFPS flying game, quite similar to Starfox and Lylat Wars on the old N64. The best thing about the game is that its world is constantly PvP. There are 'safe' areas that no pvp can happen, but its not hard to just jump into a war zone and begin the killing. Also, while level and equipment helps, you must have skill to be good, or you will simply get destroyed.

My fave of all time was Asherons Call 2, even at cap with Hero status, the game; with the right people, just didn't bore at all. (R.I.P)

I've also had a blast on the original Asherons Call, DAoC and Everquest, but alas, came to MMOs too late, and missed their peaks. Still enjoyable, from what I experienced. I would have loved to have been with AC from the beginning.

WoW ofc, recently left due to End Game content being a bit too easy. I wasn't expecting to leave my first few runs of Nax 25 with half the tier7.5 gear... Nor clearing the entire place! Where's the challenge?

ATM I'm back on LOTRO. Left a while back when Angmar was just boring me rigid, found a new lease of life with the Warden Class. I would however recommend you play with a group, or duo. So much more can be accomplished doing such than trying to solo the content. I'd dare say if you tried Soloing the game, you'll quickly get bored of it's slow progression. I play on Snowbourne, and currently unguilded, so if any kin needs a new player.. /w Failrien or Ariael. :D

Others I've played are City of Heroes/Villains, Everquest 2, Vanguard: SoH, Guild Wars, EvE and WAR. None of which, with the exception of CoH/EQ2 grabbed me enough in the latter half of their progression to keep me with them.

Why do they feel the need to progressively dumb the games down anyway? Apparently the incoming Lotro patch is going to do just that and from what you're all saying that it happens everywhere else to. Are there flocks of players sitting around whining about how hard everything is or is it just some proactive measure based on some belief that the easier it gets the more casual players they can have?

Anyway, my favourite MMO would be Neocron before they released the Dome of York expansion. At that time you could take all of the classes and tweak their skill setups to such a large degree that you saw some really unique players running around, who still remained viable even though they didn't go for the 'cookie-cutter' builds. I had so much fun seeing what was possible with my ppu monk (supposedly a healing/support class), and it was great to see people's reaction when you whipped out a rocket launcher, automatic rifle, laser pistol or one of the various other weapons that you're not supposed to have as that class. Having the distinct weapon classes (melee, rifle, pistol, heavy, drones and psi) was actually one of the best features they could ever have brought in I think. That and the skills/subskills system anyway.

Maybe they are dumbing them down so that they can get the younger market hooked. So look out for more annoying little 14 year olds :D

Dungeons N Dragons online, the only MMo ive liked, been playing on/off since beta which was just over 3 years ago.

Have tried trials and betas of other games but none really grab me like DDO did, its not everyones cup of tea as pvp is limited ( which i think is good) the quests are all instanced, so no one outside your party can enter ( another good point imo), xp is based on quest completion and any optionals, not per kill as in most mmos, mods are currenlty free, should be getting mod 9 in the next month or so, which will raise the lvl cap to 20.
Downside is there is some grinding involved due the crafting that was introduced, but then you dont need to grind if you dont really care about the uber items, like myself.

Necron 1 (even though it had tons of bugs in it) and ofcourse Planetside. Probably my all time favourite just because you actually felt like you accomplished something when you managed to cap a defended base. Ofcourse overall it meant pretty much nothing as there was no 'real' engame to it.

Well I have now played WAR, WOW, EVE and LOTRO.

Personally I dont think any of them are worth paying for, they dont offer anything extra than an ordinary games does in my opinion.

I think I enjoyed WOW the most, then WAR, then LOTRO and finally the boredom of EVE.

I havent played too much with LOTRO but I havent been enjoying the combat very much. And is it just me or can you not be on the bad side? If so how does that work.
