83 Stone Fat family on £22k benefits also been on X-Factor

I think I've solved the problem!

We have cereal for breakfast, bacon butties for lunch and microwave pies with mashed potato or chips for dinner," Mrs Chawner told Closer magazine.

Heredity my backside. Go for a bloody run.

These type of people always seem to claim that their obesity is a disease ... well in that case lets treat it as such.

Instead of getting all these free handouts lets have an equivalent of sectioning them under the mental health act as they are a danger to themselves. They are then put in a facility where they have a limited calorie intake and a proper exercise program and this is not optional and lasts for many months. Half of their problem is probably due to their eating habits so they should be trained to break them of those habits as well as loosing weight.

Also have it like student loans so when they come out less fat and fitter and get a job then they have to pay the cost back again.

I remember this family on the X-Factor and all of them would be classed as 'Special Needs'.
The Father made his daughters dress which was hideous but they all thought it would help her to win.
I actually felt sorry for them at the time and they were shown to make fools of them.

Seen this case highlighted by Sky News yesterday morning on Eamonn holmes' breakfast show. They'd invited a journalist on to review the front page of the papers and this was one of the stories he'd picked up on.

Live on tv the journalist stated how disgusted he was at this situation and as has been mentioned here suggested cutting off their benefits and forcing them to work.

The look on the face of Eamonn Holmes and Charlotte Hawkins was priceless, the seemed surprised that someone would come on Sky News and suggest such an outragous thing.

Haha eat till you drop dead.

Emma, said: "I'm a student and don't have time to exercise" she said

I don't have time because I'm too busy eating. ;)

The benefit system is a doddle to fiddle if you know how. It's been made more difficult recently but for a family like this there's no chance of stopping them from getting these benefits with the secondary disorders obesity causes. Plus obesity's a grey area anyway because it's usually a mix of a genetic predisposition and stuffing your fat face with an excess of unhealthy food.

I posted a thread recently about fat in foods and the majority thought it was right to leave foods as they are with and excess of fat, calories, etc. because it's their right to have a treat when they want. You could say this family thought the same about treats and did it to excessive levels. I mean where do you draw the line? At the point they start claiming benefit?

Cant see the link, but what does it matter if they've been on XFactor?

Anyway, lots of people like to hide themselves from the truth and convince themselves tehy're not at fault for things. It's a natural way of dealing with stuff, pushing it to the back of your mind. These guys have decided that it's not their fault they're overweight. Meh. So what?

Do people really care? really?

If you don't care how your taxes are used (provided you pay them that is, are you a student at the moment or similar?) then fine, that's up to you, but for the rest of us normal working folks, stuff like this is an insult, and if it's in the news then of course people are going to talk and rant about it.

Don't try and drag me down to some sub-par level. I pay plenty of taxes from my salary, and yes, i'd rather keep them for myself. Shouting from my armchair won't change how they're spent, however, and i wont moan for the sake of moaning.

I'm a normal, working folk also, by the way. And also, i'm talking about it, because it's in the news. So really, i'm doing everything you're doing, and i'm the same as you, only i'm not shouting and berating people.

i thought we were going to avoid these, and that everything i said was unbelievable and must be a joke ;)

I've worked with people time and a half the size of every one of them!

This is where they become culpable. Benefits, human rights and excessive eating or genetics are questionable matters. But it's about their attitude to work. I don't know about the private sector but the civil service would bend over backwards for them if they worked within their ranks, hell they'd probably be posted at higher executive officer level before they found where the canteen is!

Mr Chawner said: "What we get barely covers the bills and puts food on the table. It's not our fault we can't work. We deserve more."
That is what is most irritating about things like this. They don't deserve more at all.

Oh look, finally a reply that isn't completely retarded.

Stories like this really annoy me, lazy ass mother hubbards! Why should we struggle to work and pay for them to shovel food in their faces and sit on their bums watching jeremy kyle, and they think we should and want more, really takes the mick! Throw them at the taliban, that would scare the hell out of bin laden! >:[

22K a year + housing benefit + council tax benefit will be a lot more than what couples get with a half decent job and a combined wage.

Hell, our household combined income is now just short of 30K a year and yet we can afford to buy fruit, veg and healthy foods which come to around £50-£60 a week.

GTFO, get a job and stop sponging. State robbing *******.

Oh fiddlesticks, they can't because they say they are too fat.
