Google Street View active in the UK

Just browsing around Google Maps (as you do) and tried the Street View thing again and it actually works now.

IIRC, recently there were still questions over legislation which meant they couldn't activate it.

Just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention so you have an extra thing to waste your time on!
 
Good shout, i've been looking out for this as my brother got snapped on friday, i checked at the weekend but it wasn't active...now to see if i can find his pic :D

Been wasting the last couple of hours on it. All faces and reg numbers have been smudged out. Knew the government had insisted that they did but why bow down to them.:(
 
The garage near me had a google van parked up while one of the lads got some cash from the ATM. No streetview near me though :(
 
Fun activity: zoom out so you can see the whole of UK and drag the orange man into a random location and explore!



I just realised how sad that sounds

yeah just noticed it's all blurred out so it will take them a while for snaps taken on friday to make it online. He was in a very remote location though so the coverage should be pretty good...
