2 Months in..

Lady at work has just got a S convertible and thought she must have a hole in the exhaust because of the exhaust noises!! I told her it was normal :)

You obviously don't listen very hard then, ask any Cooper S owner (Such as Mike or Cybershot) :)

And with all due respect, it's not a standard normal car as you put it either.

I think the point is that we all know a modified car may pop and flame through the exhaust, but for (what I can see) to be a standard roll of the production line car then it's not something you would expect thus people staining their pants when they hear an 'unordinary' noise from their new car.

I think its too easy for people to get in the Mini = Girls shopping car BS. The Cooper S is a hot hatch and a pretty capable one at that.

I wish my Octavia had a Cooper S style soundtrack to go along with it :p

Matt have you driven a cooper S before ? A guy at work has one as his company car (supercharged varient) and it pops and bangs like a little **** !!!!! Its a great noise .... Infact my mums brand new mini clubman S burbles and pops when being revved

Sounds great :)

Love the supercharger whine on these things, always try and take one up the road when we have one in our work.

Being a single bloke I only use it for work :|:|:|:|:|:|:|

if I was you i'd be out in that thing picking up birds every single night, whats wrong with you :L?

Totally normal for the Cooper S :)

MrLOL: Excuse the poor quality, sisters SLR isn't charged so had to use my 5 meg camera.

If you want them any better let me know, i'll borrow a proper camera tomorrow..

looks cool

really would love some in my car, but LEDs throw up the bulb warning errors in the Canbus system on the vectra. You need to solder in the correct resistors so it draws the current ammount of voltage as the leds draw too little voltage on their own.

But im ham fisted so have to make do with normal blue coated sidelight bulbs. They do look white, but 'cos they're coated you lose some of the light output :(

Fuel Economy:

The journey I take to work is about 18 miles, and most days i'm leaniant with the right foot.. at the moment the T/C is telling me 26.1mpg and i'm getting just shy of 300 Miles per tank, meaning I have to refuel once a week or so.. costing me around £150-£170 a month in fuel, depending on other journeys I make.

26.1mpg!? From a Mini!? I know its a Cooper S but still - its tiny!

If they put this engine and SC combo into another car and it looked the part, i'd want one.

. Much rather have the pug tbh. As you i don't like the looks of the mini. Unless it is driven by a good looking lass ;).

Nice looking Mini, not my cup of tea but I hear those Cooper S's are fun to drive.

By the way, do you realise that you've left your reg. plate visible here, yet you've blanked it in the OP?

I'll give a go at resetting it when I start my next block of shifts.. see if it goes up any ;)

I've never driven one, let alone owned one, so it might just be me - it just seems very very low for a teeny tiny car. A friend used to have a Clio 182 and averaged high 30s, even with a heavy right foot
