Because I didn't even know there was such a thing until a couple of days ago, am I the only person that didn't know this ?.

Anyway if your interested in trying a bottle Somerfeilds sell one called 'Banrock Station Sparkling Shiraz' and it's on offer atm for only £6.49 reduced from £8.49, I think it's the only one they sell atm and I've never seen it at any other Supermarkets, although tbh I've never really looked out for a sparkling shiraz before. It's really is a nice wine, bit strange at first but after a few sips it really does grow on you, I've never tried anything quite like it before, really nice in a champaign flute served chilled, it's a sweet, smooth and fruity wine, and the pink bubbles really add to the experience, I think this will appeal to the girls more than the guys though, so if you fancy bringing home something different for the wife or girlfriend then I'd definitely recommend it.

sure have..its bloody lovely

its like fizzy alcholic ribena, but drier on the palate, much better than a sparkling white though as its nowhere near as acidic and its really nice slightly chilled on a warm summer evening about half an hour in the fridge is all it needs, its also stops it feeling a bit heavy alcohol wise (they are usually about 14%)

Ewww sparkling, all my gf drinks. Shame it's summerfeild else id be nice and buy her some for mothersday of the baby

Bankrock is a nice cheap Aussie wine; not in the same league as Wolf Blass or Penfold's, but they do crank out some pretty good stuff. It's usually sold by the cask back home.

Sparkling Shiraz is great with a hearty red meat dish. :)

Banrock is cheap and cheerful, try it. There are some very good Australian sparkling red wines around, it is worth spending some time looking for them. You could have course try some pink champagne.

Jacobs creek do a sparkling red. Never got round to trying it. I'd rather buy that than a banrock station

You ever tried it ?, I think I may give this a go with a cheap bottle of red just to see what it tastes like.

surely using a cheap red is going to stack the odds against it being any good?

Why not just mix half a glass of reasonable red with some coca cola, see if you like it and if you do, do the full bottle? :p

first i'v heard of it but would like to give it a go :) Can it be drunk and enjoyed at room temp or should it be chilled?
