Homeless people

The Car Park by the old Route 66 is not short stay parking.
I've also seen them walk around the corner and get their mobile phones out.

My sister is the manager of the Festival Park Morrisons and every time she sees a homeless person begging outside she offers them a job.
Not once has one taken her up.

I would gladly take up that offer.

I think it's really sad that they have ended up in that situation. It's easy to just brand them as SCUM but that's harsh unless you know the real story which is unlikely. I find it a pity that people get stuck in the cycle of being homeless and it is very hard to break away from that. Scumbags and pro grifters aside I think there are plenty out on the streets who would dearly love to sort themselves out, work for a living, have a roof over their head. I was in Derby today and was rather shocked at the number of tramps on the streets.

The good things always come to those who try no matter what it is.

Self belief is something that should never be a dithering factor in life.

What stops them from going on benefits, then when they have showering facilities, getting a job, working their way to management, and earning 50K?

Have you tried to apply for dole these days? Whats the likelihood of a homeless person having two photographic proofs of ID on them for example? Also, £45 a week won't get you accomodation + food + bills paid will it? Not in the south anyway...

You're statement has now made me open my 3rd bottle of wine and contemplate how I shall answer you're question.

Git :p

That's an absolute lie though isn't it. Self belief certainly helps, but at the end of the day if you're delt a bad hand you have to ride your luck.

If you are dealt a bad hand then try harder. Never ride you're luck as you end up back to sqaure one.

I just try to turn a blind eye to it. Although I'm sure there are those who are drug users there are probably quite a few who'd like to earn a living also. :)

I did drugs for many years, held every job I had, kept all the friends I made and had the time of my life.

Does that drop me into you're category of blind eyes?

You honestly think that simply "effort" will see you through every hard situation in life with every single person? Sorry to be the one to burst your bubble but that is simply not how things work.

The thread was about homeless people... I said that there are those who are drug users, IE. those percentages of homeless people who are drug users . . .

Of course you can.

If you have done everything you can possibly do in one day then why not?

I have a wife who has one kidney, a possible withdrawal of her gall bladder and I do everything I can to make her physical life as easy as possible, and she keeps a 40hr a week job.

That's only one example. I have many others just in one day that I can also express.

Yes, you're a horrible person for even beginning to feel sympathy for him.

Or no, it's a perfectly normal reaction.

This.

Fairplay mate, you're obviously a good bloke, I wish her all the best. :)
