That whole "test" could have been summarised to "Think of a vegetable", been done before with hammers, green balls et al.

Ah, well actually I also thought of a tomato first. However, I then realised that a tomato is in fact a fruit, so I changed my answer. The next one was carrot.

Precisely, everything leading up to it had no purpose other than to make you answer quickly.

The answer they give is probably teh most common answer. I doubt it would be 98% in family fortunes though.

i don't think the ritual has anything to do with what you say, its there for extended entertainment and misdirection.

i think the word which was expected of us to say was a type of thing or archetype which is common anyhow.

when we are put to the test and under pressure we will go down the path of least resistance, , in other words what's easiest to think of. the quickest.

why that vegetable? does it have an archetype? is it symbolic in some way that we are common with subconsciously?

we all loved bugs bunny as a kid.

seems silly or simplistic , but that's how the subconscious and the mind works. especially under pressure.
