Music Dissertation, Dawn of War 2!

I really like that Jono!
Did you have it live recorded by real players or midi it all using plugins?

Na, its all samples (vst plug-ins), panned and reverbed to give the feel of a live orchestra.

Vienna Symphonic orchestra is very good ;)

It's pretty good - only thing I would say is that you don't quite react to the themes in the video. It feels more like a single piece of music than a score for video.

Pretty darn impressive though :)

Have to say that's quite good, definitely fit for its purpose. I wrote a music dissertation (with help from a friend lol), I think the most important thing is to impress the fellow who will be marking the work. If he feels safe in giving you a 1:1 (with regards to it being subject to outside invigilators) then you're set.

Butter him up baby.

I thought I hit the hit points pretty well

Ah well each to their own.

All in all very good. It might be worth using Edirol Orchestral for some of the layers as well as Vienna (particularly the brass). A combination of layered instruments from the 2 would work very well. It would make it feel a bit more natural I think. There's a couple of points where it just sounds too clean and midi-like, if you know what I mean.

That is in no way a criticism though. It's just that some suite's particular instrument sets are more natural sounding than others. If you've got Edirol Orchestral to hand then perhaps try layering up the strings and brass with some extra from there and see how it sounds.

Good work though. :D
