Thats good for recording data. I use fraps and it uses up loads of space and then have to convert it all. Still havent found out a nice converter.

Does anyone else think that Left4dead is putting too much pressure on steam? I have been using steam for years and Ive never had as many conection problems over the 8 odd years (maybe longer) ive been playing with it compared to the time left4 dead was out.

Has it become too popular and they cant cope?

noo.. i dont believe it's about populiarity... more of a offers, new games, etc making steam more populiar than it was beffore.. and using all their bandwhich... now steam just feels more alive than at the start of 2008..

Yeah but whats with all the downtime lately? Surely they have some issues with all these extra people using it.

Try verifying the game files, I always seem to have to do that after an update, which sucks.

Cool, I'll give it a whirl ta :)

I use a program called Vitrual DUB, mainly as it's free...But if you set it up right you can convert quite a hefty file down to a decent size while keeping quality quite high.

Actually Counter Strike games and TF2 are getting more players and servers than L4D.

Also TF2 is being subject to a lot of updates recently.

At this moment in time Valve are working on TF2 & L4D update wise, but CS:S and CS 1.6 are getting the most players etc.

Valve need to make the game more PC friendly like the other Valve games, matchmaking does not work for a PC. And how they're gonna get the matchmaking system to search for the custom maps that people want is abit ambitious.

Works fine...You click search for game and it finds a game for you.

Only thing it could implement is filters for where it searches (country, ping etc)

Looks like I'll be out of l4d for this week at least unfortunately as my main PC motherboard has decided to fail on me. Working at the moment on 1 memory stick :( which is fine, but motherboard is getting rma'd so I'll be on my old PC after today (copying some files over using the single working RAM slot), which'll play l4d, just not as well :(

The tool I linked you to in this thread works fine. I think your main prob is that you're using the free version of FRAPS which is limited to only 30 second video clips, leaving you with umpteen files to piece together and convert.

The full version doesn't have a time limit so records all data to one large file, making it easier to convert.

Read so much on this game, really sounds amazing. Definatly gonna buy it when i get my new system up and running :D Hope to meet some of you on there
