ooops just read another forums saying using IM application would use text message everytime send new IM message so i guess 600 texts might be not enough.

should have gone with combi 30 with unlimited text message. do you think t-mobile will upgrade my contract to combi 30 if i phone them?

cheers

My issue with subscription services is that I often find that I drive in areas with no voice or data coverage and this renders the software totally useless.
I need something with maps on the SD card, not being downloaded as I go.

I've been using 1.5 Cupcake build designed for the G2 HTC Magic. It's awesome, pretty stable, quicker and much better battery life.

I went to bed at 11pm with 83% charge, woke up at 76%, it's currently on 60% with mild usage throughout the day. Pretty good if you ask me.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498026 Link if anyone is interested. You need a rooted phone but you can use Nandroid (ALT-B) to completely backup your current setup and restore back within minutes if you dont like it.

Dont be fooled by the version numbers. 4.0 and 4.9 use a HTC build thats quite pretty but 4.9 is pretty unstable with partial working Google apps, whereas 4.0 is pretty stable but no Google Apps at all. 4.5 is the peach, thats based on a Google build with fully working Google apps, it's stable too. Although todays release does have a slight bug which mutes telephone calls if you use the camcorder feature but I guess it'll be fixed tonight.

another subscription satnav gripe is that if I want to use it in europe, i'll be paying roaming data charges. Hmmm, no thanks.

Got one of these yesterday on a combi30 (actually 2, t-mobile appear to not be able to count!)

Now looking for some apps, really impressed so far. On the plus side o2, offered me to keep my current contract for the next 15 months for free so if I ever run out of texts or minutes I have a back up! :)

I have no problems with the size or weight. They are larger than a candybar phone, but they are by no means unwieldy.

Was leaning towards a BB Bold but these look like much more fun and with the app's coming out thick and fast I may opt for one of these instead.

Are blokes going for black and girls white or either or?
