Was interesting, now I understand why the patch is taking so long. Can't wait.

PS. Has anyone else suddenly lost WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE?

Yes, you crashed on NM4 at the start of the lift crescendo, of all the places and time to crash lol. The three of use made it then the other team made it so it all came down the to last map and both teams failed so we still won.

You weren't responding and it was at a critical moment so we had to votekick you. :( Definitely just a kick though.

Maybe when you're kicked there's a time limit until you're allowed to rejoin?

ive lost it twice now lol

As for supergt getting kicked, i was in the game on the other team and he was kicked because he appeared to be afk when the lift had arrived on NM4. Shortly atfer it said he had joined again but never appeared on spectators or a team.

i had a go the other day on one of those custom servers, the church bell part was BRUTAL
 
Pah, none of you seemed interested when I put custom maps on one of the servers :p

Admittedly, that was a long while ago.

Anyhow, the fragM OcUK 1 + 2 servers will be back online shortly. The physical server issue is sorted (for now) and I'm putting things in place at the moment to stop annoyances like that happening again.
 
Missing it too, back home from uni so no capable PC here. Borrowing my mates copy on 360 and its nothing compared to the PC version! Just going through the acheivements mind :p

Votekicking leads to a temporary ban in most instances so that players who've been kicked cannot rejoin. If you have an admin in game and someone goes afk and needs kicking, you should ask them to do it so that player can always rejoin (as unless the admin bans the player they can usually rejoin)...

Also, Aekeron, I'd be interested in playing some Death toll/Dead Air on one of your servers :) Though we only have to wait two more weeks so its probably not worth it tbh. Just make sure you get those servers updated as soon as the patch comes out as I have a feeling it'll be a busy night!

Are these OcUK servers open to public or are "closed"? It's rather a gamble when randomly joining a server/game and goes downhill when people rage quit (which happens a lot).

Essentially as far as I understand it, Aekeron, Decto, Uvmain and Seani run some servers each and contribute to the community.

To use these servers, you need to be in a lobby of OcUK'ers really (be careful not everyone has it in their name in-game, like me).
Then if you are the lobby leader, type in console: "sv_search_key ocuk" or "sv_search_key ocuk1" depending on if the first one works or not I suppose :) Then click "START GAME" when lobby is full and the dedicated server search should put you straight onto an OcUK server within seconds.

For example, if I was playing randoms or just wanted a game I wouldn't join OcUK and expect people to join, becuase they are closed off to public to my knowledge. But in a lobby of OcUK guys you will more than likely goto one of the OcUK servers).

To use the servers, join the OcUK L4D group (it's been linked in this thread enough times). I would also recommend adding some of the more famous/well known/constant players to your friends list.

There is a thread in PC Gaming regarding steam names and Left for Dead (created by Aekeron). So you can go through and add familiar people.

As a quick rough list, people who usually play most evenings and spam invites are:

Knubj3
LinkToInsanity
Reflux
Sharpygsxr
Robert1986
Forgetful Fish
Decto
I can haz ceiling tank? (a.k.a - Hungry, Hungry Hippos/Euology)
MRK
Buckz
MignightLamp


There are loads more and that is a snippet of the community but I tend to see these faces pop up quite often in game, etc.

Thats about it I think, ask for an invite or add us to your list - you will get in a lobby soon :)

Yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again, this game is much better playing with the OCUK folks. Everyone is a high standard and knows the maps, and there is no rage quitting or cheating.

i crowned an expert witch!111!1

and no offence or anything, but the average "skill level" here aint as high as my group of l4d mates on proper matches :x.
