It's GPU 'Press the button day' but which one?

I would've said 'Golden Sample', but then I saw the price, it's a tenner more. If that doesn't bother you then go for the Gainward.

Gainward also seems to have better cooling and a voucher for Mirror's Edge. Not sure of the warranty on the Gainward but judging by other Gainward cards, it's 2yrs.

I asked OCUK, and they said they would give 2 years warranty, it's also 55nm, which isn't stated.

I've looked elsewhere and the same card only has 1 year warranty.

Can't fault Gainward, had a GS 8800GT which was pushing past 8800GTX performance from the clocks I got off it! The non reference design will undoubtedly enhance the already amazing overlooking potential.

Go with XFX if you want the piece of mine warrenty, and knowing them, will probably bundle a game and 3D mark vantage for ya...oh yeh, and one of those "Do not disturb, im gaming" hangers:D

Same warranty i think, two years, oh yeah i'd kill for a "Do not disturb i'm gaming" hangar?

Bit concerned about cooling as my old 8800 gets real toasty, the cooler on the Gainward is supposed to be better than the reference one.

Bought the Gainward, thanks to all.

It was worth the extra tenner.

Obviously the majority of tommorow will be spent looking out the window...

:D

Cool, let us know how it performs. ;)

I will, i know i'm going to be a bit CPU limited @ 2.7GHZ where i'm currently sat, but a new CPU is gonna have to wait (E7400), gonna get 4GB of Corsair 8500 for £40 to replace my G.SKILL, first. Then my upgrade cycle is done for £300.

What overclocking tooL do you suggest? i've always just the EVGA as nY 8800 is EVGA?

Rivatuner, has so many more options than just overclocking.

My Gainward 260 is just like the one you've, bought, but GPU-Z says it's 65nm :(

Anyway, running 700/1453/2400 right now and temps don't go above 72c in L4D @ 43% fan.

Strange, it's listed as 55nm on Gainward's site, i'll take that over GPU-Z.

Nice clock, and that temp is amazing, my 8800 is getting into the 90's @ 100%. I guess you can't hear it at 43%?

You know how you like to flame people when they buy new graphics cards? :(

You want it done back? ;)

I think Gainward have used both 65nm and 55nm GPUs for the card?

You can hear the fan at 43% - in fact, the default fan speed is 40% and I turned it down because it was a wee bit noisy in Windows. But compared to other graphics cards, the noise at 43% certainly isn't bad.
