I can't understand how no-one picked up on the fact that it was he who over-complicated the design and took what was a simple, low cost product and turned it into a complete joke.

I much prefer the US version. Barring the current season of 'celebrity' apprentice. The regular episodes are much better. End of season tasks involve much bigger things like managing an entire corporate event involving either companies like MS, Yahoo etc. Mid season tasks even included designing a bottle for pepsi.

And where else do you get someone (trump) getting so annoyed with a team that he fired 4 of them in one go

People kept wondering whose going to come back from 4 ppl who went to boardroom, and next thing they know is trump coming in to tell em they've all been fired, lol.

Also, imo, the candidates are better. Not all obviously, but many are. For ex. - the guy who won a few seasons back was a rhodes scholar with like 5 degrees. Not much real world exp. and all that, but at least it demonstrates a certain level of ability and determination. Or you've got former olympians etc. Not saying that qualifies them in a business sense, but shows that they have reached a certain level in their own lives, and you can't do that without some skills at least.

Another pretty poor showing from the contestants. Think Phillip and Howard are the ones to beat. None of the girls are hot except maybe Kate but her pitch last week was so bad it's put me off her too.

Edit: What was that mouthy girl (Debra) going off on a 'PC' rant for?! :/
