Hi,

Just as the title suggest really, of late i am finding that i have more time on my hands and not enough stuff to do to fill it.

I dont bother with TV much (maybe 2-3 different programs a week), i watch a couple of movies per week, play a few online games etc and maybe do a bit of reading.

after the kids have gone to bed i really could do with something to wind down with, i am going to start walking more on the weekends, but thats mainly to keep the weight off and fitness up a little higher.

I know this may seem a bit sad, running off to an internet forum for ideas on hobbies/interests, but i figured that there are literally thousands of members here, i am sure there will be some interesting ideas.

lots of things you can do.

A couple:

Warhammer models - building and painting (not so much playing)
Cross Stitch (if your man enough :p )

Why not try something a bit unusual like learning juggling (use beanbags if you might wake the children up) or poi? They're interesting skills to have and you can always entertain the family with them when you're good enough.

Take up a musical instrument?
Get hold of Platypus and get some recommendations for some classical music: he's very helpful!

Try reading? Might not seem like a hobby to some but it's definitely a great pastime.

Learn about then acquire some tropical fish? The kids will like this one too!

Amateur Rocketry. Building models and handling explosives. Brilliant hobby. Makes you cry though when a rocket you have worked on for ages explodes on the pad or the 'chute doesn't eject. :( :D

Probably more for the weekends, but I suggest rock climbing.

You'll certainly lose weight, tone up, and gain strength and fitness. It's addictive too.

Maybe try an OU course or join a club doing something that gets you out the house?

I'm joining the local sub aqua club next week with the aim of getting my sports diver cert , this will take up monday nights for a while and and I will probably stick with the club after I get the cert, not to mention weekend trips

I think you should try model making and painting. Cars, boats, planes that sort of thing. Some of them are extremely intricate and will take many hours to complete.

I must admit that the Model making/building/painting route seem the most tempting.

I used to play golf but gave that up, mountain bikes/bike riding in general just doesnt interest me, and running is a big no no.

The walking thing i dont mind as i can just set off with a drink and a few quid in my pocket and see where i end up.

golf, snooker, pool, bike riding, join a pub darts team, Karate, pop down to your local leisure centre and have a look what they have to offer....

Make things. Go through your drawers and the attic, and see if there are crafty type things you can make an sell on ebay, you could make art out of things, or scultpures, tables...

You can make quite a lot out of old tshirts and jeans.
