Ok i know AZAB will take some beating but, some of you older regulars must remember worse?

I imagine there has been some comedy gold over the years.

I think the most infamous thread must've been the one where one of the members posted a thread about his car, and Sam83uk (now permabanned) asked

Is that a Bugatti Veyron?

I'm sure everyone knows of this. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I try to think of infamous motors threads. There's also that one where a guy claims to own a particular car and another person disproved that by saying anyone could claim as they like, by putting a Hovis on a car that wasn't even his.

I don't understand why this is such a big thing tbh. I thought it was clearly obvious that he knew it wasn't a Veyron, he was just saying it because he was making a point about how the grille of the Alfa (or something) looked very similar to a Veyron grille.

Guy claimed it was his car cos 'heres a picture of my lunch on the bonnet'. Fox then claimed his dads 530d was his by putting a loaf of Hovis on the bonet and providing a picture. It started the whole 'Hovis to prove ownership' thing.

I dont remember many epic Motors threads, What is this AZAB one I apear to have missed?

Most epic thread I remember is the one in GD that was titled with swear words, contained swear words but went about 10 hours before a Mod came online and nitced by which time it had become a thread of abuse and a competition to post the biggest picture....

The guy from glasgow that cousins had 30 odd cars, who was that?

Sonny?

Psycho Sonny.

Who was the guy who said he bought a brand new C class Mercedes as a project car and a few members from here went round to his house and took pictures to prove he was talking crap?

Portable sun?

A new member posted pictures of his Nova project car with some "background" info. Someone obviously recognised the car from elsewhere, or something didn't add up and BS was called.
So the guy said "to prove it I'll take a picture of it in my garage right now!" - this was at night, and the picture showed a unit with a glass roof and bright sunlight streaming through the skylights....

The whole Hovis/bread thing was a guy trying to prove a car (Merc IIRC) was actually his, so he took a picture of his lunch on the bonnet :D
Fox said that didn't prove you owned the car and proved his own theory by posting a picture of a loaf of bread on the bonnet of a BMW that didn't belong to him......

GUN9 atually does have a tuned Nova, but for some reason he posted a spec list grabbed off the internet that doesn't match his car

There was also some guy who claimed to have a Celica GT4 with Audi Quattro transmission system?! Something like that anyway.

Lots of people posting pics from Ebay or Pistonheads sales and claiming they owned the car, no idea why people do this. It's usually not even a particularly special car...

Can't remember his name now, but there was a regular member who made up a load of BS about a supercharged (?) BMW project car and then suddenly stopped posting when he was asked about it because it didn't look kosher. Someone even went to his house to check IIRC :D

Never found the "Bugatti Veyron" thing particularly amusing.

wasn't there a guy who had a nearly new 330Ci or something? who apparantly had a string of nice-(ish) cars and got his money through 'stocks and shares'? Was about 21 I think and could never get the hovis out! I'm sure he had 'sam' in his name.
