Yeah, thats fine, if it goes back to calling it the European Cup. Just seems a tad daft to me that its called the Champions League when half the teams in it arent actually champions.
 
What a game of football, the amount of times I celebrated thinking the game was safe was ridiculous lol but fair play to liverpool they really don't know when they're beaten. I think barcelona are going to be extremely tough opposition and will take a performance to match that of the anfield leg and a serious improvement defensively. Both us and Man U have looked really shaky in defence of late.
 
Great game of football. Really proud of the red men tonight...improvisation and commitment displayed by all WITHOUT Gerrard...people make fun of our squad but they all gave a great account, even Lucas, and Kuyt, who really is an asset to us, im glad we offered him a new contract.

I was at the first leg and sat with the chelsea fans, it was a horrible experience; sat with thugs who constantly sang hillsborough chants; i guess its the hardcore element that goes to away games and they are as thick as two planks, but most fans are decent.

With the english teams defending the way they are at the moment i cant see them winning; they really need to sort out their back lines and they may have a chance. But this might be chelsea's year.

Well done liverpool, im well proud and that was a great performance in tribute of the 96.
 
4 goals without Gerrard on the pitch and Torres hiding somewhere is absolute quality.
Hats off to the boys in red, deserved it from first half but Chelsea stuck with it and showed what they are capable of.

Time to see what type of people are going from manchester to the porto game tomorrow on chan4!

Then not full on league format...must be a way to have a champions league which only consists of champions. Instead of people who have finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 15th, whatever in it. Then again, I am not paid to come up with a format. (or as I say, change the name back to the European Cup, always preferred that name anyway :) )

I do agree there is a discrepancy between the name Champions League and the teams that enter, but then the name is little more than a marketing tool anyway.

I'd certainly be interested if they come up with something again solely for league winners, but I'm also happy with the current format as it accomodates the best teams around Europe, champions or otherwise.

Liverpool were unlucky, played well and played their hearts out.
Well done Chelsea, can now look forward to seeing you get taken apart by Barca ;)
 
Proud of the way we played tonight, never gave up, never believed before the game we had a chance but at half time I believed we could do it. All credit to Chelsea though for getting their act together and making it a cracking game. Well done both teams
 
Just got back from Judo and to say im a little surprised at the scoreline is an understatement :D. Was not expecting a goal fest at all. Looking forward to the highlights now.
