Thunderstorms - Storm Thread

There were a couple of quick flashes of lightning this morning in the london area - nowt else has developed though :(

I love Thunder&lightning :D

if one of those shiny thin white things decides to make contact with your rooftop aerial, then be prepared for a lot of sparks....

Used to get it lots when lived in the tropics, 50,000gigavolts (yeah rite) comes down the aerial, into your TV, tv fried, goes through your mains wiring and proceeds to fry lots of other things plugged in....

Nothing will save them, except a big fat air gap, thus we took to unplugging all the aerial leads from the TV everytime we saw white thingys

yep, pretty much standard practice in storm-prone countries in my experience :)

Yesterday, we were supposed to have heavy rain for today.

This morning, the forecast is sunny intervals with temps of 19c

Had a good storm here in Birmingham about 7.15am I actually got out of bed just to watch it, there was lightning every few seconds and hailstones with torrential rain making the roads look like rivers.

It's been a while since I have seen a good storm :)

Huge storm here in Leicester at around 4.30am this morning as well. The thunder was that loud it was shaking the windows
