Speaking of Radio, is there a station that plays nothing but music 24/7 - ie has no talking DJs and so on?
How would they fund it?

No I'm saying we shouldn't be paying for popular programming
Yeah commercial stations are primarily concerned with ratings but that isn't always compatible with providing the viewers with what they want. a lot of the time, commercials considerations get in the way. Its no accident that the beeb has been responsible for great shows such as Top Gear, The office, Attenborough, Little Britain, Red dwarf, Fools and horses, the list on and on.
If it were a commercial station concerns about marketability to advertisers and initial ratings would have killed a lot of these shows before they even got of the ground. And instead the public would get an unending supply of dull American imports and cooking shows.
Personally I really like him as a presenter. His randomness (and the rest of the team) makes my journey to work incredilby interesting, especially as a lot of my commutes cover the whole show. I always ALWAYS switch off when that retard comes on at 10am.
good riddance if you ask me
really dont find him funny at all

So we should only pay for unpopular programming?
I dont like radio 2/3/4 and only listen to radio 1 for a short journey in the afternoon usually but i enjoy listening to Moyles on the rare occasion. So in your world we should stop paying for all the radio stations because someone out there doesnt like it?

BY THE WAY ITS NOT TRUE, HES NOT BEING SACKED, READ THE BCC WEBSITE. PLEASE READ THREAD AND ENGAGE MIND.
Oh the ironing!
So you want BBC Radio and TV to have a host of programming that wouldn't be paid for by the private sector? Which, by definition, would be programs that wouldn't get them the ratings to get the advertising in? So you want the BBC to solely show unpopular programming that no one else would pay for?No I'm saying we shouldn't be paying for popular programming
