Hi guys,

Currently got the 7750 sitting in my mobo at 3.1GHz, vcore of 1.41 under an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64.

idle temps are around 46-48c sitting in Windows. Under load from Prime95 rise to 58-65c with cpu fan at 2300rpm. Mobo is 38c. According to speed fan.

Do they seem ok or a little hot? especially the idle temp?
Having gone from a 4200 at 2.7 that sat around the 36-40c idle it seems far too high or am i expecting too much?

have akasa amber at rear 1000pm and akasa green fan (not sure model) at front at 2000 rpm.

cheers

That's a little high. It shouldn't cause problems, but it should be lower.

Likely cause is thermal paste application, or heatsink position. You should be trying to put as little paste on as possible, and you might want to make sure you've fitted the heatsink correctly.

They do seem a little high.

i'v got mine at the same speed 3.1ghz and same cooler idel 32 load 42
i'd try re-seating the cooler with fresh thermal past.

have tried re-seating once and it dropped from 48 down to 40 but now has gone back up again. will have a try cleaning & re-seating cooler again soon probably when i get my hdds sorted.

Just loaded speedfan again and is sitting at 41 but as soon as i load cpu for a while then leave it to idle it'll sit at 46-48c

what case fans you got ?

Not brilliant ones, but Akasa amber 120mm at rear and an older Akasa green 2000rpm on on front (quite old). PSU as in sig.

Only other difference since installing cpu is orientation of cpu cooler. Previously had it mainly with fan facing downwards, i.e. sucking in air from space between graphics card and fan, now have it other way so taking in air from psu and fan. Though I would have thought that would have made it cooler

First, only accurate temperatures for this CPU you can see in BIOS, all another programs including Everest not supporting that CPU, I have 3.38Ghz with 1.424V on mine and temperatures on idle are 34C, on OCCT for 1Hr , not more then 50C, Cpu cooler the same.

Sorry to bring this back up, but despite reseating cooler, removing, reapplying thermal paste changing orientation etc... still can't get temps below 39 idle, but now also have the side effect of the cpu fan spinning constantly at 2500 rpm which is starting to annoy me.

In bios under power have the cpu fan set to silent and case to optimal.
Case fans appear to be controlled as when I change setting to performance or disbaled they spin faster, however no matter which setting i choose for the cpu fan it stays at full speed, other than putting the cpu fan cable to a case fan header anyone got other ideas? Have already tried downgrading & updating bios.

Help appreciated.

* Edit: this is at stock
* Edit 2: Now idling between low to mid 30s
