I wish I had all my days off... doing whatever the heck I liked.
When I didn't work, I just played games, listened to music and generally messed around. Went up town most of the time to enjoy a pint with a few friends.
Thinking about it, I might have had a slobs life but my god was it a good one...
I work Mon-Fri unless I take a day off to do something. So weekends are full of relaxing and not wanting to go back on Monday. Often I'm busy at weekends sorting stuff out or doing stuff with people, don't get to relax much at the moment...hopefully get to this weekend.
Working from home today, as I do anywhere between 2 and 4 four days most weeks. Lovely short walk to my office from bed, and I can get up at 8:45 and still be "in work" by 9!
I work 4 evenings a week so now is my weekend untill 4pm monday ,most days its computer when i first get up then long dog walk maybe a windsurf ,or may go down to cornwall some weekends then i just surf and walk .
I get a lot of time off during the week when everyone else is at work, so I usually end up doing a bit of housework and odd jobs that need doing, then I'll watch a movie, play a bit of xbox360 and listen to some music, also walking the dogs. I feel a bit guilty if I waste the whole day without doing anything constructive though, so usually end up making and finding things for myself to do that don't 'really' need doing.
As of next week I'm going to spending all my time at home although its not by choice as I'm getting made redundant. I plan to have a few days to chill out, do stuff around the house and play on/with the PC. After that its down to job hunting and hopefully a new job in the near future.
I am a student, If I am not at uni I am doing coursework, if I am not doing that I am at work... so I do work every day, just do not go to work everyday...
Couple more weeks though and I will be able to forget about uni and find a good job (I hope).
i get most of the week off, do 2x10 hour night shifts friday and saturday, the rest of the week is my own, i meet friends, play games, play golf (or an approximation where i whack the ball as hard and as far as i can, rinse and repeat), watch films/DVDs, listen to music, surf the net, take my brother to the park, paint miniatures and more
you'd be surprised how quickly the days off go
hated being unemployed though (and it was only for a couple of months!), next to no money and every day off is a sad life, so damn boring.
A lot of my friends work offshore (generally 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, or similar). The single ones seem to spend the 2 weeks onshore in a drunken stupor. The married ones spend the time with their families.
If I have kids I'd consider changing to work only four days a week. It would cost me, but I think it would be nice, for a while at least, so spend more time with the family and to give my wife some 'time off'.
