Manager Of The Year

Can't do the treble now, in my eyes, the Treble is the top 3 trophies, we're out of one of them now, so you have to draw a level at where you count trophies. I remember when Liverpool fans tried to claim they'd done 'the treble', or even 'the quintuple', despite not winning the CL or EPL :p.

True, we can win 4 trophies, it's not the true treble or quadruple though.

I wouldn't complain though.

Yeah thats whats making me laugh with all this redknapp talk. This is a team who every one expected to be in the uefa cup or as some nutter predicted above arsenal this season.
Ok so you think Redknapp has an unfair advantage over Moyes? Lets look at who had an easier task shall we.

Moyes enters his 7th season as boss, it doesn't get much more settled than that. It's purely his squad, he knows all his own players inside out, they know all their team mates, they have a game plan and are a team of grafters with a great wok ethic. It works as they've finished 4th before. They also have some fantastic players. As for having to use your youth system, well isn't this down to Moyes and his overall skills as a manager?? ;) We've even had to blood Man Utd's kids for them this season!

Redknapp walks into a total shambles of a team suffering it's worst run in it's 127 year history. It was just impossible how bad we were. Rock bottom having not only just lost two strikers worth 50 goals a season between them but it's best player and also it's captain. Ok we spent money but our £8m RB season long injury, £8m GK throwing the ball into his own net. £15m Bentley just a shambles. You're banging on about Defoe £15m but he got injured as soon as we bought him and only played couple of games. £15m Keane horribly out of form with confidence shattered thanks to Benitez.

Don't underestimate how important a pre season is or how hard it is to lift a team with no morale (Spurs had hardly won a game since winning the Carling Cup!)

Yet you think it's "laughable" to suggest Redknapp and Moyes is a certainty? Hmmm
They you actually have no idea the difference in level and spending between the top 4 clubs and the rest. The gulf is huge to maintain a squad and get results.

All that would happen with spurs if they qualified next year for the CL is the same as everton when they did. They got knocked out early and the extra games became a toll on a small squad.
Make your mind up, one minute Spurs are expected to do well as we spend so much, then we don't have enough to compete and have a small squad.... which is it?

How do I have no idea? I think you're looking a little foolish here, Spurs have spent more money than Arsenal, I think that's well known isn't it? We also have a £400m 60k stadium on the way so....

Pre-season all the experts predicted you would be a uefa cup side. With the players you had I thought so too. I don't think your anything like big enough though to compete in the champions league.

For me theres a massive difference between the resources needed to be a 5th 6th place side to a champions league side.

Well I suppose the proof will be in next season when Spurs having had the benefit of a pre-season and Redknapp for a year, qualify for the Champions league.

There's always next season is our motto lol ;)

Yes there's a huge difference in resources, Levy isn't stupid and hence the pushing for the new stadium?

Another push for Darren Ferguson with 2 promotions in 2 seasons, just incredible, and he has got us playing some of our best football ever. :)

Unfortunately for other managers, the winning manager of the Premiership nearly always gets it. So regardless of how other managers have done, it will probably be awarded to Ferguson. But Liverpool fans should be patient, Rafa will get it 'next season'. ;) :p

Darren Ferguson has taken to management like a duck to water. Management runs in the blood there.

It can only really be Moyes or Hodgson.

Fulham were all but doomed last year, and look how much they've improved this year, they're up to 7th and on course for a Europa League place next year and that's a fantastic achievement.

Moyes - case has been put forward by many already :p

LOL. I IS ANGRY RARAR

Hodgson: magical escape for us last year and now we are 7th which would be good enough for europe, hardly any money and signed good players cheap. /Close thread

Thing is no one really pays attention to league two, hell league one is a push for people to bother with and most still don't.

To make a champion winning side out of a club with the ability to spend in the 10k's type numbers for very few players, looking to only get loan and free transfers in has done a simply astonishing job.

Not only that but they've improved all year and even looked to be building a pretty massive gap at the top but for injuries(one shocking) to the two best strikers at the club. With what 6-7 games to go and both lead strikers out he goes and plucks two emergency loans out of thin air who are relative unknowns who come in and he gets them scoring goals right out the gate to seal the themselves as champions. That takes some doing, his first full year in charge is pretty impressive.

if its not him hodgeson has the most improved team by far and its purely down to the changes he made in the team, you can tell because the team is almost entirely different to the year before.

Redknapp, has done nothing, few stupidly lucky wins since he was appointed and have now taken around half the points available to them since he was manager, hardly brilliant for a team looking to Uefa most years and even considering challenging for the last Champs league spot. Pretending they have a small squad, when its considerably larger than most, and pretending he's done fantastically when he's been distinctly average in a year with possibly the least quality in the premiership to date, if you want to kid yourself.
