Concerns Of Global Epidemic

Call in Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding Junior!

I wonder what the method of transmission is?

If it's influenza it'll be airborne/ water vapour.

Pity the science in Outbreak was rubbish, or else Hoffman could have it cured by breakfast!

One of the BBC TV news reports was saying a bunch of schoolkids were on a trip to Mexico, and 200+ of them have missed class for illness recently since they got back. Funny thing is, all the symptoms are apparently kinda mild and they're supposedly recovering.

Either it's mutated to be a bit less nasty or somebody with a lab doesn't like Mexicans...

Damn this does sound bad:

I work as a resident doctor in one of the biggest hospitals in Mexico City and sadly, the situation is far from "under control". As a doctor, I realise that the media does not report the truth. Authorities distributed vaccines among all the medical personnel with no results, because two of my partners who worked in this hospital (interns) were killed by this new virus in less than six days even though they were vaccinated as all of us were. The official number of deaths is 20, nevertheless, the true number of victims are more than 200. I understand that we must avoid to panic, but telling the truth it might be better now to prevent and avoid more deaths.

So seriously can I now have your rigs if you all die?

How many people has this member of cabin crew come into? 300+ on the BA flight, all of these passengers from all corners of the country, you've seen how quick this can spread and due to it being an airborne virus (i think?) this could get out of hand very quickly.

A member of a forum (redcafe) i regularly go on lives in Mexico City and has said that the country is going to put under quarantine, borders closed, flights cancelled and imports/exports temporarily stopped.
