I very much doubt you'll be able to do anything with it tbh. USB isn't magic!

I would take a guess at it being used in conjunction with capture cards/devices perhaps.

I've never seen one, the name would imply that you could, but i imagine it wouldnt be very good or would come with very buggy drivers.
What type of TV and graphics card do you have?

Also you've linked to a competitor so you might what to edit your post.

I thought the same too Chris, I don't see how it'd work, if it wanted to connect to a TV it'd use his graphics card and sound wires, it just doesn't make sense...

TV is a samsung LCD 38" i think. it has scart a couple of other connections and RCA. At the moment i have a laptop with a wierd round 9 going to RCA on the tv.

I want to use the NC10 laptop to output movies instead with something but it doesnt have that wierd connection, only CRT and USB

(sorry if im not making much sense, ive had a few pints)

Lol ok, through the drunk talk I didn't understand much of it. Drinking at 6:30? Christ. Anyway. The weird connection is probably a little circle thingy that is used on TVs to pick up signal.

There are two different things you could get, you could get a VGA (The connection most probably on the back of your laptop for another screen) to S-Video (The circle thing on your old one) - No Competitors! Sorry if this link isn't aloud, if it isn't, just search VGA to S-Video RCA Adaptor, you should find it.

Another thing you could try is No Competitors! Search for VGA to RCA cable, it will connect from your VGA plug like the first one, but go to the three RCA cables like your USB one.

The second one is the one i need but will try the USB one later.

-I did a carboot with dad this monring. Had 2 pints with auntie and uncle on the way home and had 2 more before/with the chinese ive just eaten

If it's an LCD tv you really really don't want to be using RCA/S-Video connections. Does the TV have VGA? HDMI? DVI?
It will have at least one of those which will allow you to set the proper resolution etc.

Thank you.

Sorry, what sites would be classed a competitors? Just ones that sell stuff you do and don't xD? Also, it is kinda annoying as you can't show people the stuff they need as easily. But I understand why. Sorry again.

WHen you say only a CRT? there isnt an port which is exsclusive to CRT, you probably mean a VGA port, which your TV may have on it, if it doesnt it might have a DVI port which is an easy conversion.

Sound might be a bit trickier though.

All of the mini-tvs (5-6") we have at work have USB inputs like this. It's not USB, it just uses a USB style socket to plug phono into.
