***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

got a strange problem with my res just wondering if any one can help, any way when i first installed it i changed the res to my screens native which is 1920x1200 and l4d loaded that fine played some games which looked fantastic restarted it went to play again and the res has been changed to the lowest 16:10 ratio size and everytime i change it back it will not have it, tf2 and dod:s keeps the 1920 size but not l4d :(:confused:
 
Just thought of an interesting game to play, run through the campaign with killing that many infected. 1st try was No Mercy, got through the 1st 2 stages with a total of 40 kills (used a molotov), AI only.
 
Ok I have had enough. Can't get a decent game of VS in days :mad:

All you lot playing that survival rubbish :(

Is a bit crap lets be honest. Just trying to beat a clock

Yeah. Vs is still the best. Nothing quite like planning an ambush and pulling it off, or smokering that last standing survivor, or the satisaction of double boomering all 4 survivors and walking away to try a 3rd time :D

How do I add a server I just bought to the ocuk group??????

Servers, I have no idea, but i'm sure Aekeron or another mod will be along soon for pointers.

If you want to play just head over to the L4D names thread and start adding names to your friends list. After that just wait for the spam invites that start to happen around 7pm :D

I didn't get a chance to play much this weekend, was quite busy, but I'll be on tonight.
 
Survival is good but its annoying me a little trying to beat times that were probably set from before the patch :) Some of you guys have tried TOO hard or got lucky with some bugs!

Gold's are enough for me, just want one on all maps. Trying to beat a time, which is quite frankly the same thing over and over again, gets boring quite fast. Although good for a quick game.

Link, it's been ages since we been in a VS game. So shall we organise one for tonight? I think 7:30-8pm onwards will be good for me! Haven't had a decent game of VS in ages mainly due to survival, etc.


Oxy - to answer your question, all you will have to do is add this to your server config:

\\Set OCUK Search key
sv_search_key ocuk1

That will do it. If you read the threads link linked (;)) then should explain all in there. You might want to ask Aekeron for a copy of the OCUK server config for all the sourcadmin stuff - he is a busy chap so you may have to wait for that stuff!

Yeah, sorry I've not been in touch much. It's coming up to crunch time for a project. I recall that you got your server working okay though?

In /re to putting sv_search_key in a server..I'd ask that people try to maintain the same plugins, admins and settings on their servers if they're going to make it so that ocuk players will end up connecting there. It generally is me that gets contacted when servers mess up and it's a lot easier to provide support when we're all using the same settings (it also generally improves the user experience if all the servers are pretty much the same in /re to plugins and admins). If you're planning on deviating, I'd ask that you do something like "sv_search_key ocukcustom" or something (e.g. the test server I made is "sv_search_key ocuktest").

Always happy to help out - best thing to do is message my trust and I'll provide what I can (as knubje said though, ultra busy atm) :)

Yeh, I'll be up for a game tonight. Being Monday I usually eat around half 8 though. So around 9 would be best for me. However if you want to start at half 7 I can always leave if needs be (usually I get away with going afk for 2 mins whilst I go grab my tea and I eat it between spawns as infected :)) and someone else can join instead.

I've played both Dead Air and Death Toll now so I'm up for either of the 4 campaigns in Versus.

I have took the liberty of setting up a server and added to the steam group list.

the name is "OCUK Private 4 - DVDBunny RIP"

I have named it server 4 as it seems to go from 1-3, 5 & 7. If someones server 4 is down I will change mine to server 8 or summit.

The server is set to 8 man versus mode, but my dear old [OcUK]Raz is playing 4 man survival on it currently :p

I think there is an OcUK 4 & 6 and are hosted by Seaniboy and Decto.
