Would you spend £40k on one of these ?

No, its an MG, which may as well be a kit car it was so terribly made, lot better cars out there for 40k. doubt it is really appreciating, probably so hard to sell and owners dont realise they have to lower the price.

I had a ride in one recently (the garage opposite my dads house is selling one). Have to say, it's a quick car, and quite muscular in it's delivery lol. The interior is actually not bad, and the ride isn't back jarringly harsh or anything. I didn't drive it but it seems like a very fun car, and it makes the right noises.
I would never buy one, because it's just not worth 40K, and there's no way prices are going up (there are still unsold unregistered units, and 40K would buy me all sorts of goodness).

Not a chance in hell, why would i want to spend 40k on something that looks like a kit car when i can spend 25 - 30k and get a CSL / E60 M5 etc.

I mean even a TVR would be a better bet than that!

Actually its worse than i thought, you can get an AMV8 for just under 45k now, thats very close to the price of this thing and a much better car.

Been in one, and can comfortably say... NO.

The interior was made out of papier maché, and the panel gaps were like the grand canyon.

Did sound glorious though.

Yup... I like it - somewhat uniquely it seems! To clarify - IF I could afford to drop 40k on a toy and wasn't in the market for the best value daily use family car I could get (BM 3/5) then yeh I'd consider buying it. It's not particularly beautiful but it has presence and menace and when all's said and done it is verging on a piece of automotive history and you certainly aren't going to meet another one on the road when you're out for a blast of a weekend so yeh...I would in the right circumstances :)

But I give you, Carbon Fibre Body, only 75 made, glorious engine (even Clarkson loved it) individuality ! Surely got to be better than a boring AM or BMW that you see everyday ;)

Problem is that it looks silly, I did used to like it but now it looks tacky. I'd rather blend in than stand out and look a total wally.

The Aston Martin Lagonda featured a very advanced onboard computer, they didn't make a shed load but that doesn't stop it from being a total and utter nail.....

Wonder why MG didn't sell very many / all they made, if it was any good it would have flown out of the showroom.

you could get a 90's ferrari for that, it would cost a bomb in services, but it would be
A)fast
B)a ferrari
c)good looking

At 20K its overpriced. Rushed out to get the brand on the street but never delivered anywhere near the performance promised and hype over substance personified.

Not at £75k which is what they were new ! but at virtually half price ?
