RIP both of them....

Just makes you remember how good safety is today...remember kubica last year? I thought he was gone after that, but god those cars are tough now.

it still amazes me that he crashed because his reactions were incredibly fast, any normal driver wouldnt have counter-steered anywhere near that quickly and would probably have been fine, bit of a spin perhaps. senna's skill was just utterly incredible.

Always comes up on my birthday :(
Turn 30 tomorrow and was 15 at the time, just when a lad really appreciates great driving talent.

RIP Ratzenburger and Senna.

Senna stopping during qualifying to help Erik Comas

All F1 drivers walk this line, and thankfully F1 is much safer now.

Does anyone know the truth (or have any insight) about the rumours that both drivers were actually dead at the scene of their respective accidents, but due to rules about the race weekend being cancelled if a driver dies on circuit, they were artificially kept alive to force death to be pronounced off-circuit?

Often happens in Italy as they have some very strict laws around responsibility and though I don't have the details I have read about it in the past. It's not as morbid as it sounds and I don't believe they are doing anything that they wouldn't do anyway just pronouncing death away from the track.

Same way no-one ever dies in the House of Commons - they always die en route to hospital or in hospital, never in the House.

We all moan about "what F1 has become" as such, but, its un deniable that safety has improved in a massive way - shame such a high price was paid for it by the drivers that went before. :(
