Fitting incorrect sized tyres

Technically you'll need to inform your insurance company. I've heard a horror story of an insurance company very very nearly refusing to pay out on a 911 Turbo because the wrong size and speed tyres were fitted.

Just to let you know, not telling you how to suck eggs mind :)

They need tyres with matching codes. I'm not sure an S class is quite that tyre critical. Speed rating is still vital tho.

What would be the effect of fitting 275/30/19 or indeed 275/40/19 tyres to drive wheels which normally take 275/35/19?

Will either of those sizes be ok? Or should i stick to the original size?

Are you suggesting only changing the tyres on two wheels rather than all four? If the former, it's not recommended on modern cars as it can cause problems with ABS operation.

I think the problem is resolved now anyway as the gent above kindly pointed me towards tyres in the correct size. Indeed it was only the rears which i couldn't find. If its likely to cause problems with the ABS/Brake assist/Stability management systems etc then i will definitely avoid changing them at all costs, thanks :)
