Interested in programming?

I'm interested in this :)

I'm interested in learning C#, I don't know much at the moment although I know some basics of the .NET library, as well as general programming syntax. (I learnt a little Java last year, and I write quite a lot of powershell and vbscripts in my line of work).

Just adding another thought; we should get a forum or IRC channel going, would be great for communication.

Loving the ideas so far, I'm happy to do anything programming related, whether it is learning more or actually getting down to coding a project or something. If we also decide to go down the games development route, I wouldn't mind scripting some of the plot (if there is one) or dealing with the text involved - writing is generally one of my strong points :)

Cool great to hear your both interested. apeZ Sorting out the theme / ideas for the game(s) will be critical so sounds like you'd be very useful from the off.

An IRC channel or forum would be great - but alas I have no hosting at the moment. Feel free to add me to IM for a chat about the project. (mail is <forum name>@googlemail.com).

Cheers

D

There have been multiple IRC channels for OcUK for years.

I could help out with management, as I'd rather avoid coding, and my team got top marks and a prize visit to the IBM University Team Challenge for my second year University project.

Would need to look at my other commitments though as I graduate soon, and will be moving house soon after that.

agreed I said that earlier (in the programming thread) It will be needed because of so many different topics that need covered. But I think at a slightly later stage once we got the interest, maybe post on ocuk to show updates :) I'd love OCUK to make us a hidden forum for the project but tbh that just aint gonna happen :) I'll look into setting one up now :)

Cool stuff Codec - just linked my Google account to an "MSN live ID" so adding me as <forum name><at>googlemail.com in messenger should work!

Excellent Kreeeeeeeeeeeeee (lol) any time you can spare would be great!:)

I'm trying to get into C atm, obviously I won't be any use at this stage but I will check back when I actually get any good at it. :p

You'll live to regret that statement! :p

(I've dabbled inside the Linux Kernel - though I wouldn't do that out of choice).

Ha ha ha I recon the OCUK OS would boot with "lol wat booting - your gay"

In fairness we're getting a team together now and it's looking great:D

Just a quick thread to say there has been an outstanding turnout for this. Developers young and old have stepped up and I want to thank you all. With a bit work we could do something really cool, if we use bits that we all do best - this is will be amazing.

Thanks for your efforts so far - and damn you spie give us some hosting space! ha ha

Using, a range of languages what is the plan to get it to WORK, surely interoperability will be a major issue.

I've never done anything like this before but I'm interested. Clearly after I've done all my exams and I probably won't have a huge amount of time but I generally pick things up pretty quickly!
