The Broken Steel DLC for Bethesda's RPG Fallout 3 has been added to the Xbox Live Marketplace and is now available for purchase and download.

The download costs 800 MS Points and weighs in at 620 MB.

Info here
Meant to be semi decent this time, though I'm not sure if you need to complete the story before you can start the DLC?

Does anyone know if I download this now, will it let me carry on playing the original game which I haven't finished yet, but with the higher level cap? Will it add the expansion as a straight extension of the game? How does it work? Never had any DLC expansions before.

I think you do as the game now doesn't end when you finish the game.

It will indeed let you carry on as normal but with a higher level cap

So is this the third DLC for Fallout 3?

Yep. Anchorage, The Pitt and now this.

Just downloading it now, can't wait to play it but probably won't get chance till tomorrow :(

I might have to get back into Fallout 3 again and have plenty of MS points spare.

How much are the 3 DLC packs total cost?

Do they come with extra achievements and can you finish achievements off that you didn't get during the main story while playing the DLC, such as any missed quests or the speech challenge?

Want this, but thanks to someone trying to empty my bank account I have no debit card to buy points with!

:(.

They're 800 points each. I've not got any of them yet, like the look of this one though. Wonder if it's worth getting the lot ?

Probably should point out, at least to everyone who hasn't bought it yet, that yes... it's broken :D. PC and Xbox versions anyway. Haven't heard about the PS3 one.

Does it work properly?? PC version is messed up and many X360 users are saying they cannot get the quests & or the Achievements are not unlocking either.

THey're not doing very well with the Fallout DLC are they ?!!!

I got towards the end then I got massive slo mo and my Xbox locked up...

Think I will try again tomorrow!

Found this update from the devs

UPDATE:: Bethesda has been in touch to update us on the PC version: "We're seeing the same error, which is a Games for Windows Live DRM Install error. Microsoft is working on fixing it, and we'll let everyone know once we've verified it."

The developer also said the following regarding unrelated Xbox 360 errors: "The Xbox Live servers don't seem to be fully synched yet with the additional achievements. This should fix itself automatically soon. People won't lose any achievements."
