The police wrongly charge people with murder all the time, like that guy who shot someone breaking into his house who threatened to kill him, madness. So I wouldn't place any bets on him being guilty, especially considering that murder requires intent.

So how exactly did he bring her back to life after the crash so she could be taken alive to hospital and die there?

No it doesn't.

Intent to cause GBH and the victim dying as a result is sufficient mens rea for a murder charge and conviction, assuming the evidence is there for both.
