So how big is your legal music collection?

Am just going through the process of reripping all my CDs to FLAC for the second time (don't even ask why!), and it got me thinking, how many tracks do you have of legal music?

I have just really got back into buying cds after quite a while off and am getting them by the truckload from ebay, got about 70 physical discs now, not much but it's growing very quickly ;)

I'll post up my track total when I'm done (likely to be a looong while), but what's yours?
 
Mines around the 70 mark, and not really likely to increase. I don't tend to buy them unless I want a FLAC recording which I can't obtain. Or if I do buy them it's to support the artist and I'll usually not bother opening the cd.
 
About 400 CDs and around 800 LPs, I think, haven’t really counted them, never bothered about the tracks, been around for a while. :)
 
Must be a big shelf to hold 320cds! Am buying a media storage cabinet soonish as my small shelf is just getting too full!

It is a normal bookcase, but I made some little mini step-shelves to go in to make two rows of CDs fit into one normal bookcase shelf and also be easy to get at.

Aha, good stuff. Think I'm getting one of those media storage units that is like 2m tall...not convienient for cds low down, but I just don't have the space for much else!

I'll take a photo of what I have done, seems far better than any "Media solution" all the ones I saw wouldn't even hold enough and were all a bit cheapo looking!

All mine is is a book case with a bit of MDF wood with some no more nails.

Just stuck some little MDF style "Steps" in - lets me fill the wasted space of a bookshelf with another row of CDs.

About 25 CD's in my own house at the moment as I've only recently had enough disposable income (and the hifi gear to notice the difference) to justify buying them rather than just downloading. I got rid of all of the ones I'd taken when I left home a couple of years ago as they'd sat in a box for six months when I moved house. There's a few hundred CD albums from the 90's of mine still at my parents and a similar ammount of singles.
 
Does please me to see so many people here with loaads of CDs. Thought a lot of people might be beginning to consider them pointless. Digital downloads depress me :(

I agree - never bought digital and don't see myself doing for a long time. I have a digital backup on my mac but that is mainly for my iPod, nothing nicer than a CD.
