iPhone + stanza is pretty satisfactory for me.
Wouldn't like to carry around another piece of kit if existing hardware can already carry out that task.
If you're reading a long book, e-ink is miles better than an iPhone.
Most definitely, but I have read quite a few books on my iPhone via stanza, I would value the conveniance of having one device, although obviously e-ink is less strain on your eyes, and drains considerably less battery.
Then again the OP wasn't asking about the iPhone which many people don't want![]()
I'd love one and would buy one tomorrow if they were available in the UK.
I don't think these electronic book type devices are good enough yet.
Why not?
It's quite simple really none of them felt easy on the eye, I felt I was always straining a little when I was using them.
How recently was that? It's quite simple really none of them felt easy on the eye, I felt I was always straining a little when I was using them.
None I've seen present technical (physics / maths textbooks) books well either. For me at the moment they'd be a more of an emergency device to use (I.e. when I couldn't get access to the book in traditional form).
How recently was that?
The new model that's just been announced should be a lot better because the screen is much larger, it's been made specifically to be able to present that sort of book in a more usable way.
I've been holding off buying a Sony 505 to see if the 700 or the Kindle ever make it to these shores.
