Your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. :p

Sorry mate looks nasty, but that's what happens in the real world. Forums giving you a false sense of security :)

This

They bait you so the best thing to do is ignore them and say nothing rather than responding...

I know this thing shouldn't happen and it is absolutely disgusting but you should have just walked away and not responded to the moron. Sounds like he was hankering for a reason to lamp you and you gave him one. Still shouldn't happen mindyou.

those types of people would just get supremely confident if you did this and keep insulting you and probably end up attacking you anyway

@ op - good comeback with the your face insult, i would have lol at that point

ps/ guy is an amatuer anyway, you dont hit people in the mouth, unless your wearing really tough gloves

sad it happened but tbh, you know he's a chav and has been threatening to you, what I find funny is that you honestly didnt think a chav wouldnt try something on once you tried insulting him, more to the point you didnt even think that he might hit you after giving him the insult :/

This is spot on, from the op's picture you can see why a chav would target him (slightly passive/geeky look about him), thats an observation not an insult by the way.

This guy was obviously a bully and he singled out the OP, from there you have two options.

1. stand up to the chav (as you kinda did)

2. ignore, disengage said chav.

I know its easy for me to say this as I wasnt there but theres been a couple of occasions in the past 6 months since moving I've had two similar encounters.

One was when a guy followed me off the train, I had my headphones in but heard him shouting, asking for a light. I didn't acknowledge him and kept walking, he followed me for a bit (while continuing to ask...like i would suddenly turn around and whip out a lighter...duh!) and after a while gave up. There had been a few reports in the news the weeks prior to this where people had been mugged/beaten up with chavs like this using the 'have you got a light?' line to distract people so they could hit them unaware.

The second was a group of chavs, I was walking past them (they going another way) and two of them started mouthing off at me (had saw them giving grief to 2 other guys that had passed me slightly earlier) I just glanced over and kept walking on course.

My point here is that you don't need to acknowledge every interaction that presents itself to you, often disengaging from what is happening and continuing to walk on will see the chav get bored and look for a reaction elsewhere.

my 2p.

Rather that than having a 6 inch blade shoved under my ribs.
I ain't never had any trouble with so called 'chavs'.Their Like any group, good and bad in all of them,
Had a few top 'sessions' with characters you guys on here would probably refer to as Chavs, sound as a pound and a proper good ol' mash up was had by all. There pretty much the only 'subculture' I found who could keep up with me back in the day! haha. they weren't burberry cap wearing 'chavs' mind you. Maybe Half-chav. haha

That's a pretty crap way to end a night, on the plus side at least your glasses didn't get broken; flesh heals, glasses don't.
