OcUK Poker Thread.

I've never said this before, but I think someone at my table might know more than he's supposed to.

His play is MEGA suspicious. He never raises, but he checks when someone has a good hand and he knows his is better. There is NO WAY anyone could be this good, calling bluffs with 5th pair, raising people off big draws..

The one that got me was the fact he kept raising in strange positions, only to 3/4x BB and everyone folded. I had AK (he's to my left) on the SB 3 times and he never raised once. Never has the BB defended their blind against his raises. But to my point: I had AJ UTG and limped, he checked his BB. 7-3-3 flop, 3 of us check, 10 turn so i led out with a pot bet, and he calls instantly. 7 river so i bet 2.4k into a 3k pot and he insta calls with 8-8.

Why would such an aggressive player suddenly only check his mid pocket pair?

VERY fishy imo.

He's gone on sitout now, been playing this for 2 and a half hours and he hasn't put a foot wrong.

Just varying his play. The only way he'd have an advantage is if he was playing with someone else at the table. But even then, it's never going to always help.

Well, the first few times I figured he got lucky. But the fact that he's done this at least 25/30 times now has made me watch him very closely. I know the chances of it are slim and everyone gets their fair share of luck but this is beyond weird now.

Hmm, there are ways of reporting him - he'll probably have his hands / play checked out.

If it's decided it's dodgy, his account might be frozen. It's pretty unlikely, but anything you lost against him - you might be reimbursed with.

I was playing a turbo tournament on pokerstars, someone kept raising pre-flop with stupid hands.
He raised all in pre-flop I had AQ so I called him and he showed 2,2
The flop came A,7,Q i thought it's got to be in the bag
The turn comes a 5
The river is a 2

got punted out a tournament at the local gala for the same thing twice in a row. just two places behind the payout.

A-K against J-9. flop is k,4,9 i bet half pot, call, turn is q, raise so i'm half stacked at this point, hes all in. river is bloody 9.

hand directley after that i have pocket j's. all in against a paid of 4's. flop is k, 6, 10 turn is a 9, river is a 4.

god i hate poker some times theres no doubt i would have been on the final table if the river wasnt so mean.

Not bad for 8 hours work. Muahaha. Cash games are the ****.
Site? Stakes? 6 or 9 handed game?

That is one sick heater you're on, making 20BIs in 3,500 hands on six tables (I'm assuming you're playing ~6 tables judging by hands/hour). Well played all the same. I'm also assuming you play deep stack tables :)

A good set of assumptions, sir. I do play deepstack tables but only to avoid shortstackers... not really comfortable w/ $800 on one table yet (new to 400nl). I've taken shots before but they didn't go so well, but now hopefully the pressure is off :).

Bust up with 2 Germans in pokerstars chat box, Guess the next line :p

Me “why are German’s always mouthy?”

German number 1 “Oh aren’t you clever, googling the city to see where I am from”

Me “I didn’t I know all about Germany, my grandfather worked there in the 40’s only at night though”

German 2 “why do the British always bring the war up ?”

Me “You lot started it”

You can see where this is going can’t you ?

German 2 “no we didn’t”

LOL Rotty :D

I'm on a high tonight - played only my 2nd live MTT. Heard there was a £10 rebuy tourny in town so I went along and played it.

3k starting stack for £10, rebuys are 2k for £5, as was the add-on.

Got up to about 9.5k at the end of the rebuy period (didnt rebuy once, but did add on), but soon found myself down to 2.8k with blinds at 400/800 (half hour blinds early on ). Pushed with AJ, ran into AQ but some guy claims "I folded a Queen.." and up popped a J on the flop. Got me back to 6.4k.

Blind levels went down to 20 min after rebuy period ended.

Next big hand, I had 77 on the BB and someone min raised me, so I called. KQ8 all diamond flop, I had 2 black 7s. He bet 1k and I thought he was chasing so I called, turn 4, check check, river 7h.. I check to him trying to get him to bet but he checks.. he showed AK with the A of diamonds

Cue a torrent of abuse from him, hitting my 1 outer, I'm such a sucker blah blah.

Anyway, made it to the FT of 9, top 6 got paid. Limped for 1.2k with Q9d on the button, 3 in the pot. Flop 6c 6d 9s so I shove, both call with another all in. One shows Q6, and another Q9
Turn comes Kd, river 3d :D - cue same guy giving it large "this kid is ****ing unbeatable" etc.

Knocked a few people out and got HU, 1st place was £200, 2nd was £120 and I had a 3:1 chip lead. Soon managed to bluff this away and was a 3:1 dog, ended up pushing with J6 against A9 but hit 6 to get even again. Before I know it, i'm 4:1 ahead at 5k/10k blinds, I've got about 150k. I limp with KJ praying he shoves and he did with 9-10

The board: 8-4-4-Q-8. WINNER!

I know it's long winded, but having never paid to enter a MTT before in my life and winning it after having a stack with 3BB left and not rebuying is a massive buzz. One guy kept shoving and rebought 8 times, he came 5th for £40 and was still down!

Oh, and I always say AQ never wins, suited or not. NINE times it went in that I saw either 50/50 or a massive favourite, and not once did it win. Absolutely unreal.

I'm now exhausted. :/

Anyone else abusing the supernova offer for brits on stars this month? Would never usually put the volume in to get supernova, but after this month I will have it and have worked out it'll be worth $1k+ extra over the rest of the year :).

Do share?

That's a decent offer though. I've only played on stars for a few days and from playing $6 SNG's and .10/.25 cash i've accumulated a WHOPPING.. 50 FPP's.

Need 500 for a $50 bonus too  lol

lol it was a bit silly to go all in before the turn with a nut flush draw on the cards is it not? unless you were shortstacked and could't bring more chips in.
