Pie eaters vs Prawn eaters! **Spoilers**

I heard Dave Whelan saying today that Man.U. lost somewhere in the region of £40m last year, can they afford to buy Tevez after blowing loads on Berbatov and those young lads?

Manchester United looked alright, Wigan played fairly well.

Vidic had a shocker for the goal, and looked quite uneasy for most of the game imo, nice to see Tevez get his 5th of the season :p

he doesn't understand the finances. in this instance at least.

Isn't he on some finance committee or something?

He reckons Man.U. are actually in debt to the tune of £800m and the interest payments alone are damaging them.

The debt's increasing because of the way it's structured, specifically the PIK loan and the accrued interest which is rolled-up and added to the principle. Once the PIK loan has been refinanced into more conventional debt then net debt will start to fall, albeit very slowly.

August 2013 is when the first tranche (£150m I believe) of Senior debt has to be repaid. That's over four years away and I feel it's inconceivable that a refinancing won't have taken place by then. As long as the club has shown they can service the debt, I've no doubt an extension would be granted anyway even in the unlikely scenario that a refinancing deal hasn't been forthcoming.

The debt will be paid off when the Glazers sell the club, although it will undoubtedly be replaced by debt that the new owner will need to take out to finance the purchase.

If you take out the non-cash losses (such as £35m relating to the amortisation of goodwill) then Red Football will actually have made a profit in 07/08.

we also write off tax from or p&l even though we're not currently liable to pay it.

United owe £515 million pounds on a secured loan, payable at LIBOR rates, and then a PIK loan which they service with a lump sum every year.

Only £265 million is guaranteed against the club and its assets.

I thought that Rodellllaggggaa bullied him at times, it's not the first time that's happened recently either.

not his best game and his attitude didn't help either. he could have talked himself into a sending off in a vital game for us. luckily he calmed down at half time.
