Ah :D Sorry.

Yes that is much better.

Still not sure how this is much better than Vista though... better than Vista when it came out, yes, but Vista currently is much improved over its initial state (although I still don't like it personally but still).

you probably wont notice this because your on a speedy rig but it is a hell of a lot faster on lower specced machines. eg. my netbook (vista was far far too slow on it and i havent used XP for so long that i dont really want to go back)

apart from that and the taskbar though then ill admit there isnt much difference ive noticed. i quite like the taskbar but its nothing special

next year around june time I think

at least this beta will save me form buying vista 64 bit and its free ;D

*note to self* never ever downlaod big stuff from microsoft again  eta 9 hours  I m normaly getting 350Kps or more  oh well

I'm about to install this and have a couple of questions.

Would it be a good idea to keep all my apps/games on a separate partition to the OS so that I can upgrade when a new RC is released without losing them?

I've got a 320gb hdd, if I do leave the c: partition entirely to windows what would be a good size for that partition? I'd obviously like to keep it as small as possible.

Cheers.

I've set my 250gb to about 90gb for windows but then again I install all my apps and games on the same one, right now I'm on 49.6gb with two games installed and quite a few apps.

Paul Thurrott is one of the few people who has been using Windows 7 for the longest and I'm with him on the new taskbar. At first I tried it for a while because it was new but I constantly found myself frustrated that I couldn't get to the correct window in a single click (hovering for even a few milliseconds is counter productive). It's too much like the OS X dock which annoys the hell out of me, unless they make some major changes to it before RTM it's going to confuse a lot of people. I think it can work but in its current state it has too many inconsistencies, even mappings from Vista are not present in the functionality.
