Do you think most people buy the very lastest topend GPU cards because

Pick which one you think is correct...

1) Because they need the speed (fps)
2) Because it's the lastest/best new tech
3) Because the GPU card looks great
4) Because they want the highest 3dmark score
5) Because they want something faster/better then everyone else/friends has
6) Because they have so much money that these cards are pocket change to them
7) Because they bored and want something to spend there money on
8) Because they think girls will be impressed with there hardware and it will get them layed
9) Because larger e-peen

1, and 5 with me. Although if #8 worked than that would trump all.

Some honestly do it out of future-proofing. You didn't just buy it because it's the latest tech, but because since it is the latest tech, it's rest assured that it should last longer than older models.

I guess that still falls under number 2 though. That was part of my reason. I wanted to make sure no matter what I bought that I would safely have a good card for at least a couple of years.


#8 just makes me wonder if anyone's pc has literally gotten them laid, and not in the "I met someone over the internet" kinda way. I could not imagine the senario where a girl would be so impressed with someone's rig that it would seal the deal. I CAN tell you that with my wife it had the opposite effect :D Forget getting laid, I was in the doghouse:eek:

I think my last girlfriend would be real impressed with me if i of throw my PC out the window....
As she used to go mental because of me always spending more time/money on my PC then i used to want to spend with her..

all of them :D i splashed out 200 on a 4870 1gb a few months back, now the 4890 is out my computer feels old and sordid :(

same deal with my 940, now the 955 is out its just not the same :p
