It's true! I just don't see the point in having a laptop that never moves. It sits here on its Griffin stand and its lost that appeal to me!

Now if titchard is reading this, he'll LoL & but I think its time to upgrade (yay my fav. word) to an all out iMac yes?

Discuss.

What happened to your Mac Pro?

Sold it before xmas, spent 1k on this MBP and wasted the rest on god knows.

i will take it off your hands if u want

Will take at asking.

In a godfather like voice, make me an offer I cannot refuse.

:p

In all seriousness though, I think having seen the latest updates to the iMac I would be more than happy with it. Capable & more than enough for gaming...

£1500 seems to be the price for the 3.06GHz & 4850

I hope you had Maltesers in your mouth when doing the Godfather voice. :p

iMacs are pretty nice. In the words of Spandau Ballet, I know this much is true.

Ah-ah-ah-ah-ahhhh

If you don't take it on the road so to speak, you might as well just move to an iMac.

I always think it's a shame when someone buys a laptop but never takes it anywhere, I can appreciate if it spends 80% of it's life in a static location but any more than that and it's probably worth just getting a desktop! :)

My MBP sits on a desk at home for most of its life too.

The idea is when its required to be taken with me, it can be.

But an iMac might be a better idea for you :p

Don't take this the wrong way but did you not seriously evaluate why you needed a laptop that costs well over a thousand pounds before buying it? Sound to me like you are having buyers remorse as well as a bad case of being addicted to buying new things.

I know because I used to be like this when I was younger (please read that in an old mans voice as if he was talking to a whippersnapper)

I'd get an decent external mouse and keyboard if you don't already have them and a nice monitor (the 24" Apple LED Cinema Display if you need to slate your thirst for new shiny things) and then you have all the advantages of a imac with all the advantages of a MacBook Pro.

My MacBook spends a lot of its time next to the bed but I'd be lost without the ability to suddenly go to the park or Starbucks or take it with me when work sends me away rather than take the stupid heavy Dell that work provided me.

What's the point of going from a MBP to an iMac? They both use laptop parts so you're not going to see a massive boost in performance. I'd rather have the flexibility of the MBP - especially since you can upgrade the monitor without replacing the whole system.

This sounds like a perfect solution to me

Having seen the cinemas display in person it is a really gorgeous piece of kit. I would buy one if it had better connections e.g. DVI and VGA inputs etc...

Apple LED Cinema Displays look like sex. I go all funny inside when i see one right up till the point where I remember you can only use mini DisplayPort.

Kind of like seeing a perfect woman who then smiles revealing she has no teeth...
