Tekken 5:DR Online Ass Whoopin, Arrangin, Thread (PS3)

if anyone is still playing this then add me to your friends list and give me a message if you wanna arrange a few games :D

Yes, add me as well. I am bored of getting beaten by ojste. Played BengaBoy yesterday, much more my level :)

Do any of you still play this? I dabble a little and wouldn't mind a few games at some point down the line. Probably easy as pie to beat so if nothing else I would be an ego boost.

I'm in! SF4 is cool and all that. But i Still prefer the fighting style of Tekken 5.

I really suck at this, only person i've played against from here is ojste... twice. Played online once today, do remember buying this months ago and went straight online and it was so laggy i quit and never came back to it. So yeah, bought this when it was £25, played half a match and never came back to it until it was £15 on the PSN... nice one streeteh :/

Really liking that this game is about timing, attack reach and attack height as opposed to attack priority. As much as i love SF4 i hate the fact that in certain situations where you should have the upper hand you simply have to block as you know they've got a higher priority move than your entire moveset (eg, with abel ALL of his special moves are beaten out by dragon punch and tiger uppercut). In this even when that freaky sonofa **** Brian is charging towards me i just have to use the right attack at the right moment.

yea when i first got into sf4 i was really confused because i was used to the way 3d fighters work where there no such thing as priority, so when something is safe/unsafe it actually means it :p

edit- oops i meant having advantage/disadantage :p

Thought Id bump this since Ive been trying to get back into Tekken. Still find it disappointing compared to Tekken Tag and previous but thought Id better get my monies worth out of my TE stick.

So I know rp2000 is an addict and I see ojste and Streeteh are getting back into it - so if you want some fights just add me and ask :).

Im not good but wholly prefer the way Tekken works and its not open to super moves and priority - tis all about timing and learning how to block/counter your opponents moves.

What characters are people using?

EDIT: In other news, Ive just recieved a BNP flyer - how ironic :D

Will keep an eye out for you mate, really want to get passable at Tekken before 6 comes out. I play as Jin as he's the only character i could remember after playing Tekken 3 many years ago. I thought i had just forgotten all the moves and had to start from scratch but ojste informed me they actually just redid all his moves in later games, ho hum but i'm learning. Really need to improve my ground game.

Yeah thats what I hate about the new Tekkens - dont get why they changed moves, Ive not used him yet - does he still have some of his mothers moves?

Ive been using Bruce (damn I love him) and pretty much have his 10hitters down and his DP variants. On Tekken 3 my favourites were Paul (Tekkens answer to Ken :p), Jin, Law and Baek...

Dont expect me to play against you if you are Eddy :p:mad:

Nah i exclusively play Jin as he's the only one i know a single move for. I'll experiment more when tekken 6 comes out as i know lots of the characters from DR aren't meant to be in it; i'd hate to learn someone only for them to be removed.

I'm actually ok fighting Eddy, he's hard to predict yeah but he's not as powerful as some. Steve however does my nut in, but apparently he is banned from some tournaments so i'm glad to see i'm not alone.
