agp card worth while ?

I think only the AGP card that can fold on the current client is the ATI 3850 (or any of the 3xxx series and above, but i dont think there are many agp cards), and to be honest, its output is pretty dismal. At a guess it may do a few thousand ppd if you are lucky, but others may know more. I dont think it really justifies the cost unless you can find one cheap. I dont think nvidia do an AGP card that will fold, but it needs to be an 8 series or higher card to run CUDA. Sounds like a good excuse for an upgrade to me!

What sort of CPU have you got...? Folding on a quad/dual is pretty good for points and probably a better use of leccy than an AGP card.

An old 939 with a dualie should turn out a few points on windows or linux (particularly linux). Even with a single core, running the normal client will slowly build up the points, particularly if it is on 24/7 (and wont use too much power). As i said, the AGP 3850 will fold just fine, but its expensive and pretty slow compared to a cheap nvidia PCI-E card.

would you rekkon a pcie and new mobo would be worth while ? i need more sata ports in all honesty as i only have 2 on this board

Depends on your budget - members market or the like to get some good bargains I have just replaced a broken 8800GT for £34 all in! and that will churn out 4K-5K a day - Of course its your time you have to consider with the change of hardware do you have the time to spare to rebuild of your server
