Razer Megalodon

Don't waste your money, nothing sound related from rzer has ever sounded good compared to stuff from more established manufacturers. Leave razer to their mouse mats and mice ;)

You serious? I mean i have seen and heard a lot of people recommending Razer headsets to me.
Well we will find out when its out.. personally i think its going to be an AWESOME headset... there will be a little war between the G35 and this, but they are taking their time soo i hope its good, lol :p

This is on my wishlist ;)

Well these people clearly know nothing about sound, and are just harping on about it because the name rzer automatically means WALLHAX EXTRA FPS GAMING LEET LULZ.

I would buy an entry level pair of £30 goldring headphones over any of these silly headsets, any day of the week. These companies play on the naivity of gamers who want the best hardware, fps and all that jazz, and to be honest most fall for it.

Get a decent set of stereo headphones and a separate mic. You will not miss anything by having only stereo as it will be implemented properly, plus you will have an amazing set of headphones for your music and games. Plus they wiill be built to last.

i went from a 5.1 headset to a stereo headset and the difference is massive. 5.1 for the win.

Now the razer headset that is going be coming out has special tech built in to it that no other surround sound headset has.

Razer Maelstrom Raises the Bar by Processing Positional Audio 800% Faster Than Comparable Virtual Surround Sound Systems.

Razer Megalodon is meant to be released at the end of June or sometime round there....
by the looks of things, this headset will be the best headset to date by any chance....
there is only one way to see, buy the headset.. thats exacually what im doing now, i preordered mine about 3 months ago and still waiting, so it getting on beyond a joke at the moment. So hopefully razer don't put the date back again.

Cancel and buy a set of headphones, seriously. That much on a headset is a joke when you could get a truly fantastic headphones for the same price.

Don't get caught up in the hype, this is just an overpriced headset from a mouse manufacturer.

Some would say to find a review before buying, rather than preordering.
I've got the Goldring 100's with Logitech's standard desktop mic. Cant fault either.

Is best headset to date that much of a selling point? I was under the impression that the majority of headsets are crap, so the best out of them isn't saying much.

How does processing audio 8 times faster help anything?

Not that my opinion is that valid, as I'm musically insensitive to the point where it's socially amusing

THey are trying to convince us we can travel back in time.

But the gulible gamer will read 'AURAL WALL HAX TBH, EXTRA 1337ness G4R4NT33D '

I love how this guy hasn't even tried the headphones which havn't been released and comments on them. Razer's build quality is exceptional. Even in their released headsets at the moment.

I think there are too many sennheiser fan bois on this thread that seem to give a biased opinion.

Which is no advantage when Dolby Heaphone on a Xonar or CMSS-3D headphone on an X-Fi do the job with no perceptable delay anyway. We don't need faster surround virtualisation.

The days of marketing sound hardware on speed are long gone. The real question is "does it sound good?".

I'm not the biggest Senn fan in the world. You're right that a few people seem to sing their praises a little too whole heartedly on here. Having said that, every direct comparison I've seen between Razer headsets and audiophile headphones (including Sennheisers in the same price range) hasn't come out favourably for Razer.

There's no real reason that a PC peripheral maker couldn't come out with a decent headset. It's just that very few have. Even Sennheiser's PC headset range doesn't compete well with their own headphones. Razer haven't given us any reason to think that they will put out something that offers equivalent bang for buck to audiophile headphones yet. Why do you expect them to now?

Think about the sound and not just the build. They spend soo much on hyping up the x800 speed, super telephathic aural rubbish and fancy looks, that they won't bother spending much of the allocated budget on engineering them to sound good, or using good quality drivers.

Headsets for the pc gamer masses are in the market because they play on the naivity of gamers for wanting the best spec, and most flashy looking product. Get out there and demo some headphones in the same price range and you will hear for yourself how amazing a pair of sereo headphones from a respected brand will sound.

Next you'll be calling me a noob and telling me how you're gonna spawn camp me to death with your paladin ;)

i just don't like it when somebody comments on a headset without even trying it first.

All i asked for was a release date and nothing else. If wanted a opinion on what to buy i would have asked for it.

Giving out some friendly advice to someone who has no experience in the area.

But if it makes you happy blowing that much on a product like that, then go ahead :)

Give it a rest -Ad-. Unless you've actually tried the Razer headphone in question, you might as well be talking out your rear end.

I'm not saying you're wrong but at the end of the day you've not even tried them yet you say £30 headphones will sound better. And how do you know the OP has no experience in this area? Always making presumptions.
