Once again I'll abstain from voting this year.

Next-to-none of the parties over here deserve my vote. And the only one with any half-decent policies are on the 'other side' and aren't really interested in me.

I can't even give a comedy vote to Ian Paisley any more.

I think until the time comes I won't really know... I should vote Conservative like I always have, but this time round I might give UKIP my vote.

Mods; can we make the poll results public so that we may expose the BNP voters, and heckle them?

Not sure that is such a good idea, if they've voted under the assumption that it is anonymous it is a bit unfair to retrospectively change the game. You've already got a fair few people in here who've said they'd vote BNP before the poll, if you really feel the need to heckle them then by all means....

Wassn't there a "rule" (I forgot the word) the BNP had if they were elected they would deport all non-british people from the UK or something?

BNP have a policy of repatriation/resettlement, voluntary in the first instance and (presumably) forced later if they do not achieve the takeup response they hope for. One of the major problems with such an approach is that using skin colour or nationality doesn't give even the merest hint of a persons ability to fit into society or their usefulness therein - it's a completely irrelevant factor unless you prefer homogeny of colour in a country (and even then there are a great many people who are absolutely British so have nowhere to be repatriated to but are not white).

Agreed, people have the right to vote for whoever the hell they want. This kind of "name and shame" attitude really annoys me.

If someone wants to vote BNP, let them. If a political organisation is clueless and not in tune with the general population then they will never get into office, so there's nothing to worry about. Whether I agree with a certain party or not, I think it's of paramount importance that these parties are able to stand for election and that people are able to vote for them if they so wish.

As for myself, living in the N Ireland, the calibre of person that offers themselves for election in the different parties is pretty dire...to say the least, so I just don't bother voting.

Iv been here 2 years now and am terrified of having to vote in the EU elections next month! Im from england and can not belive the rubbish the 4 main parties spout to win votes :(

As for the next general election, iv got that feeling it'll be the first hung parliament since the 70's (hopefully so my supprise win of south belfast puts me in the best seat possible.....)

Just because the party the people vote doesn't have a chance of getting in doesn't make name and shame pointless. For example; I'd never want to hire a BNP supporter, buy services or products from a BNP supporter, provide services to a BNP supporter, etc. I'd also want to know if a racist bigot was teaching my children, and so on.

*shrug* The BNP are not a proscribed organisation. Personal political beliefs should not interfere with the ability to do your job, one should be able to keep them separate. Why would a BNP supporter working in a teaching role start spouting off about politics at his/her pupils?

Left wing loonies pee me off but it didn't stop me applying for jobs at well known left wing organisations while job hunting - I'd still do the job to the best of my ability, even if the company's ethos didn't fit with mine :)

So you would discriminate against a person because of their viewpoint :D

So an equal amount of intolerance either side there then... wow :)

The one good thing the BNP have done is stir up debate about what have been frankly unsustainable levels of immigration. People have been far to scared to speak up about it for fear of being un-PC. Now we just need a sensible solution from a party that doesn't stomp around with pitchforks IMO. :D

Then do you agree that Nazism, Nazi promotion, holocaust denial, preaching of violence against people of a certain race, should all be made legal, then? Should Abu Hamza be cleared of all charges? Should we, as a country, stop genocides by force? Should we have gone to war against Germany, or backed Hitler?

As far as I know, the BNP haven't gone as far as saying "lol let's burn all the blacks/asians/etc!" yet. If they had, I'm sure they'd be a banned organisation.
