.....or is the price gap between diesel and petrol getting smaller?

Only a few months ago the difference was typically 6-7p/Litre, but I've noticed at more than a few filling stations in the last week that this has dropped to typically 4-5p/Litre.

Any similar changes in your areas?

94.9 for unleaded and 99.9 for diesel in Watford yesterday - the difference does indeed seem to be getting smaller, at one point wasn't it 10ppl?

I think the biggest gap I noticed was 9p/Litre.....so it's easy to believe that some in areas it might have been 10p or even more!.
Is there any reason for this narrowing price gap that "we're" aware of?

I've just got back from lanzarote on Sunday, where petrol was actuall €0.09 more than diesel, which was priced at a thoroughly ridiculous €0.61 per litre (which is 53p in our money).

Mad.

97.9p Petrol
100.9p Diesel
As of today...In Rochdale

The price difference when things were a bit better were 82.9p vs 94.9p

same down here in West Wales
97.9 for unleaded and 102.9 for diesel in Tesco
In fact, unleaded at the above has risen a penny a week for six weeks :(

I was a bit shocked when I past the ridiculously overpriced petrol stations in Dursley/Cam where I live now:

Shell:
Petrol 101.9
Diesel 101.9

<random place>
Petrol 100.5
Diesel 100.9

In the semi-civilised Cheltenham (as of yesterday) it was 94.9p for petrol and 102.9 for diesel at the Shell.

Winters gone, people don't need as much heating oil which is similar to diesel at the refinery stage. Also you could be a bit Tinfoil-hattery and say with the drop in the economy there's less wagons/cars on the raod which are using it.

Shell normal petrol is 100.1 here and 99.9p for diesel

94.9p everywhere else though...

The same local garage was a BP about 4 weeks ago, used to be 88.9 for petrol. Have to go back to Tesco fuel
